Ossi Vaananen
Is Luongo the confirmed starter? Also, bold number choice by defenseman J. Schultz (#19).
UMB
Go Canucks Go! Hope we bounceback! However I believe we'll lose as they've been playing all year in the AHL, they're young and ready to go and we just got blown out and may not be as confident...still go Nucks! Go Faulk Yourself
Mark my words, these kids have been playing all lockout in the AHL, and come tonight, they'll have shown how much it's been worth it. We're going to get absolutely dominated.
Not A Fruit
4-3 Canucks Garrison, Edler, Daniel, Hansen with goals
Pears
I'll admit I'm a little nervous for this one. But I think we'll still grab the W.

Edler's Mind Tricks
Go Canucks! So is this the other split-squad game? Seriously though, we are one glorified pre-season game in to the season. I hope Schneider starts and regains some confidence. I am not against Luongo, I just don't want Schneider to get rattled. If Ebbet is terrible, I think we can look to have Schroeder called up. Anyone see a line promotion forthcoming for the dominant dutch dale Weise? He is 24 and could be ready for a breakout year. Taking off the homer-glasses, I think we might lose this one, or at least it will be a high scoring affair if the Leafs are part of a trend. Mike Kostka looked like a franchise Dman, and he might be for the AHL, but him being in midseason form is part of what made him so great yesterday (along with most of the Leafs AHL players). Luckily the Oilers don't have any stars who played in the AHL... And absolutely dominated the competition... Or a defensemen who got 14 more points in the same number of games than the PPG Kosta... Oh right! Not only do they get the added boost of having AHL players in mid-season form... They have the BEST players who played in the AHL this year. Schultz: 48 points in 34 games Eberle: 51 points, 34 games Hall: 34 in 26 RNH: 20 in 19 On top of that: Hartikainen: 27 in 37 And that Yakupov kid was doing pretty well, eh? I'm not saying Edmonton will win the division, or even make the playoffs, or that their kids weren't expected to do about as good as they have done (outside Schultz)... All I am saying is that these guys have been playing together for months, are in midseason-form and have a massive amount of confidence. If we lose, it isn't the end of the world. The great thing is, by the time the playoffs come aroun, WE will be the ones in midesason shape and they will be worn down. We will start out weak as usual but finish strong. Try to look ahead! Enjoy the game! Go Canucks!
Master 112
I don't even want to think about what will happen to this place if Luongo starts and has a sub-par game. Actually, there may be more dismay if he has a good one.
Smashian Kassian
I think Schneider will get the start and bounce back, and our team will come out with fire like they have something to prove (Redemption) I'm going to the game so hopefully we win!!!!! 3-2 Canucks with the Oilers looking really good. DollarAndADream
I'm a little hesitant for this one. Much of the Oilers have played in the AHL during the lockout and lighting it up. Here's to hoping for a Canucks win. GO CANUCKS GO.

nuck luck
This will be the second game of the season (Oil at mid-season form) so I'm willing to give the team a little leeway.... not to mention missing some key players. Definitely a loss for the Nucks....I just hope it's relatively close, 8-5. **note-to-self** Don't read any Van-Oil post-game articles from other sites.... serenity now...SERENITY NOW! Heretic
This is one of those season changing games. I'd hate to be the Oilers now. The Canucks will bounce back and nail the Oilers! Go Canucks Go!
Tanev's Smirk
One way or another this game should be exciting. A goalie is going to get lit up for sure.
Buckeye Fruit
Start Luongo. He earned it. We must have exceptional goal tending or the oil lights us up - you cant fix all of the defensive problems in < 1 day. I still believe though. Canucks 4, Oil 3 in OT GO CANUCKS GO!!!!Love the pics btw OP.
TheNoelPatrol
With how erratically our team plays I feel like they'll come out and dominate the Oilers even though last night's game was the likelier of the two for us to win.
