Goalies are the divas of the hockey world.

Enforcer: "Without me, most would agree, the game would devolve into a-nar-chy." (from Score!)

they really need to stop making the players salute the fans after losses. It just looks painful.

Luongo is brutal in the shootout, but he had around a .940 save % tonight so you can't get mad at him. Obviously Schneider starts next game.

As far as I'm concerned, Ebbett needs to go. NOW.

0/5 on the PP. Should've capitalized. :sadno: At least we've got one point out of this stinker.

Without Lu in net tonight, the Oilers score at least 4 goals tonight and we lose in regulation.

The bottom line is the team is still not playing well enough, and we don't have a second line at all. Burrows, Raymond, Higgins, and Ebbett are MIA right now.

Improved over last game but not enough, Of course this is just arm chair coaching but I'd like to see kassian start with the sedins next game, burrows down to the second line and weise switched with raymond, Also I wouldn't mind seeing schroeder called up and ebbet just scratched.

Lu probably would like that second goal back but what happens happens. Also shootouts suck; along with our powerplay tonight.

At least Kassian made an impact even with his limited ice time.

Perhaps reward him with some PP time.

Another lousy game. This team is struggling for sure, let us not kid ourselves here. Some golden opportunities missed that should have put the game away in the second.

I know it is early, but there is not much to like about this team right now.

Overall the team looked much better today. A late goal in the 2nd and a sloppy penalty in the 3rd cost the team a point that said looking forward to the next one.

Anyone else see Henrik's lazy back check late in the third when RNH was all alone at the top of the slot but blew the puck inches wide of the net? Had RNH scored, Luongo undoubtedly would have been blamed for that despite Henrik not doing his job.

Take a Sedin, Kesler, Hamhuis out of the lineup and this team just falls apart. Every time.

I think our bluelines need to be adjusted a bit, as I saw a couple plays by Tanev where he couldn't move the puck out of the zone, and the Oilers seemed to be able to get by quite easily on the outside perimeter and cut in. It was much better than the Anaheim game, but still needs work. Offensively I think its still a juggling act, but the power play was anemic with too many missed shots (Burrows looked like Raymond of last year a lot... missed shots, flopping all over the place). Luongo played solid, save for the shootout. All-in-all, a good first 20 minutes that just fizzled...

This could be a struggle before its a triumph for this team, and naturally some won't have the patience for it, but I'm in no hurry. I've waited this long to see Canucks hockey this year, I can wait a bit more while they sort out chemistry and lines.

Really? You mean no one else would have been capable of having a better game? Schneider, though he had a bad game, won the starting position for a reason.

inability to capitalize on PP and inability to play tighter d and shut down Oiler offence. Can't blame Luu he was spectacular for when it counted, Canucks looking rusty right now and it's not fun to watch

As long as we get progressively better throughout the season that's what matters.

We wanna be playing our best hockey in May and June.

Despite what people say about Kesler's antics (diving, etc), he plays with a ton of heart and we're certainly missing his presence.

On a different topic, I noticed Kassian said in the post-game interview that he fought because the arena was dead after the Hemsky goal. Lets face it though, our arena is dead ALL the time. It's really pathetic.

Our goalie kept us in the game tonight despite numerous defensive breakdowns and being outplayed in our own end for most of the night.

You gotta give credit where credit is due.

So you'd prefer them only to show appreciation for the fans after a win, when it's easier to hold their heads up?

Weird, I like my players better when they don't slink off and hide after playing poorly.

Oh, I forgot you have to win all 48 games to do that.

Every team has losing skids, whether its the first two games, or the last two games makes no difference. Lets just hope this is one of only a few this season.
