Catering to younger people/crowd is a terrible excuse. When I was 8 years old going to games I was jamming to Disney soundtracks, I had no idea who Metallica or Led Zeppelin was.. that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hockey arena rock that was part of the experience.

Awesome song and they are from BC

If it's a local band you're after. Might I suggest ...........

Fits in well with Vancouver (gang problems) and hockey on so many levels. ......

The 1st 2 verses.

Put your hands in the air
You better take care
Your money or your life............ (high ticket prices)
Don't think twice

Gonna get what they need
It ain't nothing but greed ..................... (the whole lockout summarized in 2 lines)
Better watch what you do..................... (don't cheer too loud) :towel:
Or you'll know that you're through.........(or the ushers will throw you out) :sadno:

Well made me laugh anyways.

To all the close-minded arrogant twats saying "rock and roll is the only music for hockey", STFU. There is no such thing as a fitting genre for a sport. That is the most rediculous claim I've ever heard. Two completely different arenas, one doesn't have to correspond to another.

Teams have all sorts of different intro songs. Some are really intense, some are fast paced, some bring chills and some have sentimental value to the city. It doesn't matter, as long as it fits and does it's job, which is to get the fans emotionally into the game.

You don't just need brain-dead rock and roll to get people's hearts thumping and adrenaline pumping, there are plenty of other genres and types of songs which can evoke emotion.

you are such a whinny pansy.

Brain Dead Rock? I guess we are not as intellectually supreme and in touch with our emotions as Down Under.

Punching Faces, devastating bodychecks and blistering slapshots = ROCK

Diving, Crying to ref, empty net goals = Techno or whatever you call this crap

So after all that whining you go right out and say something stupid like brain-dead rock. Guess what...that makes you one of those closed minded twits you were talking about.

Christ you're panties seem bunched tighter than mine.

What does everyone have against an electric guitar or 2, a base, and a drum set with a singer that has a actual song to sing with lyrics that you can recognize as english.

We need something timeless, you think this Techno Crap is Timeless?

Hell No!! its the current metropolitan trend.
In five years it will be dead and some other pansy in skin tight pants will play some other ear damaging junk at all the clubs

Timeless is Rock and Roll, survey says rock in roll is more hockey than any of this crap on this page.

Go pluck your eyebrows and sit in a tanning bed

Someone doesn't know their music genres.

"Outro" by M83 is not "techno". Rarely even hear the word "techno" anymore its such a dead genre.

Some of you guys aren't music fans, you're just genre fans. Time to open up and try something new.

I listen to every possible genre I can and I love em all (With the exception of top 40). I have a playlist with over 800 of the best Classic rock songs, 300+ of the best rap songs, +700 of Dubstep, House, EDM.. I'm open to everything that's why I have over 15,000 songs.

You're not a music fan if you only stick to one thing.

I like this opening song, its different but we're keeping what we have now until next season.

I can make a drum set kiss my a$$

I have played the drums since I was 9 years old.

Played in some punk bands, polka bands, different types of metal bands and I even filled in on a country band.

This to me is not the least bit satisfying it hurts my ears and makes my mouth taste like copper.

For you to tell me I am not a music fan is hilarious.

I am not a fan of CRAP

You're a rock fan.

You're not a music fan. Very few people are music fans, that would suggest you like ALL music.

For example, I wouldn't consider myself a sports fan. I really only follow Hockey, skiing, a bit of soccer and a bit of football. Not to mention I hate Basketball. If you were a Sports fan you would try to follow every sport you can and not limit yourself. See I'm not a sports fan, I'm a Hockey and freestyle skiing fan. You could apply this to a lot of things.

Just like you're only a Rock/+sub-genre fan.

You're a fan of a specific genre or SUB-genre.

Unlike you I like everything. Sure I might not like every song in that genre but I do like songs in "that" genre.

Who cares if you like all types of music?

I do not care, I don't even consider Rap and Crap music.

This is way off topic so I'm going to just walk away before I get banned.

Outro = Crap

Fire DJ Dave so Rogers Rocks like a hockey arena is suppose to.

Okay... Go ahead be a bland person who only likes 1 genre.

And that some people are right.

The only thing I do agree on is Rock suits hockey the most but its not limited to that only.

That is fine, I just don't think the majority of the people like it and it doesn't work as an intro.

I like black/gothic/death metal. Would I love an intro from that genre? hell yess! would 99% of the people at Rogers? no.

we need to have something that most people like, not just the metros.

i have no beef with you I love drinking you with OJ.

I hate to break it to you but rock has been synonymous with hockey in Vancouver since the beginning of the NHL franchise. Whether you liked rock or not you expected to hear it at a game. I love classical music, don't want to hear it at a hockey game though. Rap and techno are crap pure and simple. Love the blues. Some country is ok as long as it isn't the old twangy sing it out your nose country. I even like jazz, Celtic, and folk. But at a hockey game it's the rock and roll that gets me going. What we have now isn't a hockey intro imo.

Great song but I don't think it fits.

I think you want something people can either enjoy or ignore. IMO I couldn't stand the "song" posted in the OP. I wouldn't be able to ignore it because it sounds like sea life dying all at once.

A nice balance of something motivating/inspirational with a local fell and something that can also be talked over.
