This is local news for a reason -- for a city that had 500 homicides last year, 2 deaths in 3 days isn't anything abnormal, in fact, it's a good weekend for Chicago. But what am I saying, commence gun outrage.

TSDR

(And, honestly, what the heck is going on?? It almost desensitizes you to it a bit if you read about these on a daily occurrence. Doesn't diminish the tragedy, just the shock factor after awhile)

"The shooting was possibly gang-related."

Okay, so are we going to start posting every gang related shooting/assault in America now?

Dittohead, why'd you post this?

Seriously, who cares

how dare you insult those that were killed or injured! Didn't you get the memo that if a shooting has more than 1 dead, a few injures and happened in the US... that means it must be responded on, to talk about how crazy the US is to the point where the memory of those killed is far forgotten in the mess of insults hurled at each other and are all about the exact same thing between these people.. the 2nd amendment in the US.

note to admins.. thank you for locking my thread, notice how quickly people were jumping all over me for a suggestion that wasn't directed at either side of the issue being more at fault? Thank you for monitoring the "shooting" threads a bit more.

One is free to respond to a thread or not, to bypass it altogether if one does not wish to participate.

That's quite the weekend tally...........and all with firearms.........anyone have any figures for the numbers that occurred with non-firearms?

That's what I do with pointless music and soccer and TV-shows-I-don't-watch threads. Quite effective method actually.
But it requires a certain level of intelligence to catch on to this kind of thing.

Philadelphia Daily News (PA) - June 29, 1984 - 5 NATIONAL

MASS MURDER 6 GUNNED DOWN IN DALLAS NIGHTCLUB
A man who "got fresh" with his dance partner at a posh North Dallas night club early today argued briefly with her and then shot her to death, reloaded and killed five more patrons at random in the city's worst mass killing in four decades, police said. The slaughter left four women and two men dead and a seventh person wounded at Ianni's restaurant and club in an upper-income neighborhood of North Dallas.

Night clubs and "getting fresh" should both have been banned in 1984!

**RETIRED...**

"Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens & the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We (Allah) parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?" (Qur'an 21:30)

"Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure--one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” (David Rockefeller)

I was at this hotel in November. True story.

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

OK, here's the drill.

In first responding in this thread, I was unaware that this is part of an agenda to prove a point. However, in seeing the pattern here let me state that we don't need every single shooting published individually in its own thread.

That's not to take away from the significance in each and every story, as any loss (or potential loss) of human life is relevant and noteworthy. But add content of this nature to the threads already in progress please/thanks.
