Ugli Fruit
This is by no means a panic thread. It's been one game and even if we lost 30-0 it isn't the end of the Canucks season. We lost our secondary scoring in Kesler and Booth. This directly affects our PP1 unit, and since we rely heavily on our special teams, our scoring may be more sapped than it would seem. Burrows is struggling. Once again, it's been one game, yes, but it is better to at least attempt to address issues we can see sooner than later. I find that Burrows is playing with tenacity, but not playing effectively. We can wait for him to return to form, yes, but given AV's history with juggling lines, who knows when that will happen? Our first line is not playing up to standard, and since we lost our secondary scoring, why are we trying to maintain scoring depth? Is it not better to try and stack the first two lines as much as possible? There's only so much depth we can rely on, and right now, both the 2nd and 3rd lines are below par. We might as well use the best players we have now on the top 6 instead of spreading them thin. Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Burrows - Lapierre - Higgins (Still weak on center but is a real scoring threat otherwise) Raymond - Ebbett - Hansen (Ebbett is a placeholder; Hansen/Raymond can counter the Oil's speed) Volpatti - Malhotra - Weise Raymond and Hansen should be subject to temporary promotion in-game depending on how well they're playing, and Kassian should be subject to demotion as well. I think we can squeeze more effective ice-time out of our top 2 time-logger in line 1 and 2. Thoughts? Do you prefer having 3 lines that are mediocre or having a 2nd line that will actually create a scoring chance and leave the 3rd line something to be desired? Spotted Zebra
If Kass can prove something on the second line I definately wouldn't be against it. Yes Burr has been underwhelming and has struggled at the practises and each of the scrimmages, he shouldn't be gifted that spot.

Erik Karlsson
^ Lol, yeah I agree, I really want to see Kassian with the Sedins. Ebbett doesn't cut it on the 2nd line.
yogolol
If Burr continues to struggle, give him a few more games to see how he does.
canucks_qc
I don't really mind about Kassian development right now, it's a short season we don't have space to make mistake. Hansen should play with the twins on a regular basis, he can do about the same work than Burrows in our own end, so he should be there until he fail.
