That's why most NHL fighter train in MMA in the of season right. Including Kevin Bieksa.

A punch in the head is a punch in the head, I don't care if it's on the ice, in a bar, in a boxing ring or octagon. They all hurt.

While a punch to the throat is so much more effective .. punching bone is so silly ..

Rumour circulating on twitter - Hartnell and a first...team has to make a move? ie move bryz...

I'd be pretty pumped with that return

Getting two 1sts in this draft, on top of Hartnell, would be a coup d'etat. I was fine with signing a 36-40 year old Doan but getting Hartnell from age 30-35 would be even better.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

It is twitter guys so means nothing but no one would complain with that trade.

Only down side is he's not a center but come playoff time, he and kassian on 1/2 line..tough team to deal with

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

Imagine:

Sedin Sedin Kassian
Hartnell Kesler Booth
Burrows Schroeder Higgins
Weise Lapierre Hansen

Great 2-way lines with some size. If Couturier could be involved in the trade it would be amazing.

Yea but a decision like this would likely be coming from the top, just like it was with Bryzgalov.

I would take this deal too. Makes sense. Philly has enough young, big bodied forwards so they can handle moving Hartnell. They also have enough young up and comers ie: Schenn, Couturier so they can afford to move their 1st.

This deal helps the Canucks now and in the future as 2 1sts would give them significant clout at the draft and Hartnel adds exactly what they need.

Those 2 1sts could be 29th and 30th though. Wouldn't that be something.

The only thing is Hartnell has a NTC. Does he waive it after signing long term extension?

Schroeder won't cut it on the 3rd line in the playoffs. Lappy would be on 3rd.

The only thing that seems "off" about it is that we'd be kinda overloaded with left wingers (Sedin, Burrows, Booth, Hartnell) with a guy like Jensen seemingly ready to make the jump next year and you've got to believe that Gillis wants to squeeze out three cracks at a Cup with a key contributing player on an ELC to offset the cap drop (Jensen's deal will likely slide this year).

However, I suppose all five of those LH shots can also play RW even if I think they're better as LWers.

Has Vandermeer cleared waivers yet? If not, when could he?

And I can't believe people are buying into a twitter rumour with no credible resource.

They choose Vandermeer out of all the defencemen to send down? Why not alberts? Vandermeer adds that fight and grit that can motivate a team! Alberts, well he's just Alberts...

Your argument about fighting in the playoffs is ignorant. Did you see one of the Canucks players doing to other superstars what Marchand did to Sedin? He slaped Sedin around like a rented mule. No you don't . You know why that little squid Marchand can? Because of the toughness on the Bruins.

Just ask the Canucks players how important they think it is to have a guy like Vandermeer on the team. It wasn't MG who thought about signing him, it was the players.

Bieksa (assistant Captain) went to MG and lobbied him to sign Vandermeer after consulting with other Canucks players.

I have to ask.. where did you find this tidbit of information?

His Lack of Sterling play has prevented him from Joslin for a position on the Canucks. He should be Mullen his play over the next few weeks or else he and the horse he Rodin on will be Friesen for the rest of the season in Chicago instead of in the Hunt for the Stanley Cup in Cannata.

Vandermeer said that some canucks went to management on his behalf then he went on about how that show Character and how they (canucks) viewed his character... etc

It was reported as stexx posted plus Bieksa himself confirmed it in interview a couple of days later.

Because this management does things................differently

everyone is expecting JS to be called up after Vandermeer got sent down, but watch MG call up someone we totally dont expect like Gordon lol.
