Obsideon
So as I was watching the Anaheim powerplay vs our Canucks on Saturday and I noticed Getzlaf on the point. I had no idea he played the point for the Ducks. I thought only a talented few forwards were chosen to play on the point because of their great shot. I only know of: Ovechkin Kovalchuk Brad Richards ...and now, Ryan Getzlaf Oh also I remember that we tried Samuelsson on the point at times but that was a failed experience lol ... Which made me curious, which other forwards in the NHL plays the point regularly (and with reasonable success) ?
Patrick Jane
Does it really matter? if your setting up the umbrella its like you have 3 defenceman in the one timer area.

gmen81
Off the top of my head I think Pominville for Buffalo and Steen for St.Louis. I also think that St.Louis might for Tbay as well.

Markus Alexander Cody
Forwards on the point are usually guys who have a big shot OR can make sweet passes which is why they're at the point. For Richards being on the point, it's so that he has more space to control the PP.

KoreanHockeyFan
I remember at one point (don't know if they still do this) the Blues used 5 forwards for their powerplay unit.
