Holy smokes. Just watched the first episode. This is going to be a crazy series. I got the same feeling when I watched dexter on it's first night. This is that good.

you can contact Joe Carroll here

Seriously find the pilot and watch it. You'll thank me for it later.

I also just watched it and really liked it a lot. It reminded me of a good well thought out thriller like seven or something. It didn't feel like I was watching a tv series. I am really hoping this will continue to be super good, and will get good ratings so we can see more of it other then The Walking Dead this may become my new favorite TV show I liked it that much!

I just stumbled upon this while I was downloading some tv. Never heard of it till tonight. Since I had become rather destitute after the season ending of Dexter. I think I may have just found its new replacement.

Would someone who doesn't like Dexter like it? Considering you say they have the same feeling.

Considering I didn't like Dexter, and you got the same feeling when watching it, should I bother?

I'm going to say you should. But if you didn't like Dexter. You are the only person I have ever heard of say that before. But if you didn't then it might not be something you would like.

Oh and ReaperCrew, I messaged you a link.

Its dark like Dexter but Its quite different. Its more about the relationship between the serial killer and the FBI agent that originally caught him so really if I was going to compare it to anything I would say the movie Seven or I guess in a way you could say the killer is like 'Red John' from the Mentalist?

I was planning on checking it out but the critical response has been overwhelmingly negative so far so I figured it was a flop. Maybe I'll give it a shot....

I guess I'm just picky with my shows. I never liked the main premise for Dexter.

And if it's about a relationship between a serial killer and an FBI agent, well imo that sounds pretty bad. Anything that promotes a serial killer is in bad taste I find.

Thanks though.

I don't think it really paints serial killers in a good way, if anything it shows how messed up/psychotic/twisted the killer is. if anything You feel more for the FBI agent then the killer, and their relationship is more kind of like how this killer basically plays with everyone. I don't really want to say more so I don't spoil anyone.

YES! That works even better then the comparison to Seven that I made earlier, except its more twisted the the Silence of the lambs because of what Carroll is does/doing.

It's silence of the lambs as a tv show.

And it mixes in Manhunter from another novel in the Lecter Trilogy by Thomas Harris and also re-made as Red Dragon ( the actual title of the novel) in 2002.

The 1986 Manhunter prequel to the Silence of the Lambs starred a pre-CSI William Petersen as a retired FBI agent who had gone toe to toe with Dr. Hannibal Lecter (played by Brian Cox) who nearly killed FBI agent Will Graham and drove him to near madness. Graham is the man responsible for capturing Lecter, but to do so, he had to get further inside Lecter's head than is safe for sane humans, and in pursuit of a new serial killer (the Tooth Fairy) he is in grave danger of losing his sanity in the process.

BTW I highly recommend Manhunter which is one of director Michael Mann's earlier films.

Red Dragon had Hopkins reprising his signature role and Edward Norton as FBI agent Will Graham.

The episode "The Poet's Fire" was great with plot twists and an explanation of the deep feelings of guilt being experienced by Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) from his earlier investigation.

Warning thar be spoilers ahead.
