Flyers GM Paul Holmgren gave an injury update on Flyers forward Scott Hartnell:

"Scott will be out indefinitely with a left foot injury. We will know more on this within a day or two as we await results of tests."

More details to come...

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

No Hartnell, Schenn, Briere for tomorrow's game. Will hurt them a lot.

Flyers depth was hurt last year with the trading of JVR and the release of Jagr. Add to this Briere's broken hand, Hartnell's foot, and B. Schenn's suspension - they're not exactly deep right now.

Yeah, but people apparently get upset when you use hashtags outside of twitter like it's a carnal sin or something. God forbid you type it that way here.

And I'm sure you meant 'definitely'... ;)

Flyers went deepish in the playoffs last season. A following season decline for them is normal.

Tank for Seth Jones?

Weird I got a left foot injury today too. I wonder if this means Hartnell will fall down more than MayRay when he gets back.

Flyers forward Scott Hartnell is expected to miss 4-8 weeks with a broken left foot:

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell is expected to miss four to eight weeks because of a broken left foot.

Hartnell, an All-Star last season, was injured by a shot taken by teammate Kimmo Timonen in Tuesday's game against New Jersey. Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren made the announcement before Thursday night's game against the New York Rangers.

Hartnell had one point in three games. He led the Flyers with 37 goals last season and had 67 points. The Flyers are still without forward Danny Briere (broken left wrist). Holmgren says it's 50-50 Briere will be available for this weekend's games at Florida and Tampa Bay.

Great, drafted him in fantasy, then almost traded him for Wayne Simmonds but didn't.

On the bright side some young guys like McGinn and Wellwood get to pick up some extra minutes and maybe go out there with a little bit more to prove.

Wellwood got sent down last night because Briere came back. McGinn got his first goal last night and doesn't look a bit out of place. Also, rookie Scott Laughton from the Oshawa Generals played his 5th game last night and might be staying with the team, he's been very impressive as well.
