If the treadmill you're on suddenly stops, do you fall forwards or backwards?

You'd go forwards. The treadmill is moving backwards but you are moving in the opposite direction. If the treadmill suddenly stopped you'd be moving forwards. Whether or not you'd fall is another question.

You'd fall backwards because you'd run into the display and fall back, away from it.

It depends how fast the the person is running, on top of that, even if you out of nowhere unplug the treadmill it wont suddenly stop, as there will still be momentem, and you will still be running, but treadmill will slowly slow down to nothing.
