King of the ES
More like he would be foolish to accept it. With the way Luongo's been playing you trade him for assets that help you win now, not table scraps.
Everybody Hates Raymond
Yeah, Bozak & Kadri would add no value at all to this team, would they?
RunningWild
Apparently Dreger said Kings want a 'high pick and good young player' for Bernier. LOL! Is anyone else thinking this is absurd. Dregers spent the better part of the last 8 months wining about Gillis asking too much for Luongo. From what I can garner, the difference in asking price is a 'roster player'. Berniers a back up with below avg SV% on a defense first team, Luongos resume speaks for itself.

King of the ES
Lu had more wins, more shutouts, and SA against, came up big in big moments. Crawford isn't a green rookie, he is 28 and has been up and down since the previous lockout. He's not going to become much better.
higgyfan
That's right, I'm gonna "face palm" a "face palm". Like it or not frazzY is right. You don't know what you have until it's gone. That being said, it's too late to turn back now. Luongo wants out and I don't blame him. Look at all the fans on here jumping on the Schneider wagon. The untested Schneider wagon... Everybody Hates Raymond
Like letting in that SHG to Toews in the dying minutes of G7?
King of the ES
If Bozak walks its Luongo for Kadri straight up, which Gillis would laugh hysterically at.
theminister
I'm in the camp where I believe no one has any idea what Gillis really wants from these "insiders". King of the ES
I agree - relatively, it's absolutely ridiculous - guy has played 49 nhl games, .908 sv%, and as you say, on a team that collapses in front of him - imo relative to talk of Luo's value coming out of Toronto, Bernier is worth a 4th round pick. King of the ES
As the poster below said, his career NHL SV%=% is .908. I'm not sure how promising that is. Sure he's younger and you have ability to give him your own contract - but he's a back up. Paying that price for a back up with below avg #'s is a bad deal. RunningWild
5 SO in 49 games is impressive. For context, Schneider also has 5 SO, but he's played in 72 games.
oldnews
Shouldn't be a surprise. We all agree that Schneider would bring back a lot more than what Luongo would. Well, Bernier is pretty comparable to Schneider. NHL numbers are not as impressive, but they're nonetheless impressive, and he's 2 years younger. Both were 1st round picks who's NHL careers probably should've been further along by this point, but for the presence of an elite NHL goaltender. Far lower risk, and higher upside potential. smurf47
That's pretty sad that he's had 5 SO and a career .908 SV%. Doesn't help your argument.
