Leafs shock Pens, win 5-2. In an odd coincidence, Canucks GM Mike Gillis just got an AMAZING trade offer for Roberto Luongo.

Great, now I won't be able to sleep for a while.......

wonder what this AMAZING offer might be.

That was my first thought after that game ended...although the loss wasn't totally Fleury's fault.

Pretty sure Proteau was being sarcastic because the Pens let in 5 goals.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

To those that could not pick up on the sarcasm of this tweet.

There is no hope for you

You will struggle mightily everyday for the rest of your life

For those who did detect sarcasm, congrats on not bring retarded.

I believe Gillis' little interview has got away from him and has back fired.
The only people that believe him are here in the Luongo thread.

False Alarm.

I really hope we don't trade Luongo until the trade deadline. But I feel for cap reasons next season a deal HAS to be made then. Our highest possible return will come at this point. And as fans I think we should be patient and wait until then.

If it goes past the Trade deadline, it could be possible we have to buy him out in the summer, or trade Corey. Either idea is bad imo.

Yeah he was being sarcastic, this guy is sarcastic all the time.

I do think there might be potential for some developments, but I am not expecting anything, I have the same feeling that it could drag out for another month.

I do think Washington has expressed some interest though, and if they are willing to give up Marcus Johansson I think the deal could be done quickly (Which they might not want too) or else who knows what might happen, cause Idk what else we would have alot of interest in, I think Mojo would be the main target in a WSH negotiation.

Well we will see, I think Toronto is kinda on the back burner, they want to ride recent success so I think Washington, Florida and maybe Philly (if they can move Bryz) are all in the thick of things right now.

An elite game changing goalie drafted in the 1st round
A fully developed NHL ready scoring 3rd/2nd liner 1st round draft pick
Our top player not in the NHL, also a 1st round draft pick
and, of course, a 1st round draft pick.

For

a 1st round draft pick and a 3rd round draft pick

OK so obviously Couturier is good and Simmonds is too, i'd love BOTH of them, but MAN is that overpayment.

Luongo himself should be with something so we should need to add in the other pieces.
I would consider adding Hansen in instead of Higgins the guy has shown that he has no scoring touch - time and time again

Hi Guys,

Finally, I can post again. Some child named "Ari Gold" reported me for "antagonizing" Canuck fans, which I thought was ludicrous. I hope my sometimes-unpopular opinion didn't ruin Mr. Gold's afternoon nap time. Do the moderators even read the content in question, or do they just accept the "report" as gospel?

Anyway, it is good to be back.

Welcome back king, you have been missed....

Anyways I am going to make a bold prediction and see how it pans out.

One of Philly or Washington will get Lu in the end, the one that doesn't misses the playoffs.

Lets see how that prediction pans out.

Dude! Ryan Smyth was drafted in the first round 6th overall. We would probably have to send them luongo and kassian just for him. Jensen and a 1st should probably get us yakupov. That's like 2 first rounders for 1. We might have to include js if we went rnh. That way we are sending them 5 1st rounders but only getting back 3.

Nonis's job got a lot easier last night when Lupul broke his arm. Their season is pretty much done. Kesler crying into his mitts at the end of the bench will get tired fast.

Nonis should be shopping Dion and Kessel as we speak. End the agony and start the rebuild. TSN should be positive about the experience as they rip each new prospect in the 'slice & dice' hour.

Hopefully Gillis has quit taking their phone calls some time ago.

To be honest, I never really saw TO as a serious trading partner anyway. They just don't have what Van wants, or needs. I also think the emergence as Kass a legit top 6 scoring threat changes MG's strategy a bit. I think they're not so concerned with getting a top 6 roster player back as the centre piece, and can focus a little more on prospects and have a roster players as the secondary piece.

I hope you were continuing the sarcastic theme of the last few posts, as this post is entirely inaccurate. I also hope you were referring to Kessel at the end of the bench, not Kesler.

I saw a lot from the Leafs 5-2 win vs. the Penguins that showed promise. Namely that Reimer kept them in it against the big guns, guys like JVR and Kadri provided the secondary scoring as the top line continued to struggle. Their D is looking better with Gardiner back. Following that win I'd say they're in a better spot, not a worse one.

And Luongo doesn't want to go to TO according to Gallagher.

Also the satcastic unrealistic trade posts are not funny unless you are still in grade school.
