canucklehead44 Posted January 24, 2013 Share Posted January 24, 2013 I was pretty mixed about the trade at the time, but now I love it. I was so excited to see what Kassian could become but Hodgson is a very skilled player, albeit an average skater with no physicality to his game. Kassian has potential to be an absolute monster, much like Bertuzzi was. That type of player is so valuable beyond goals. Not only can Kassian score, but his passing and vision is VERY underrated (people are noticing it now, but it has stood out to me all along). He can dominate physically, win battles along the boards, score goals, set-up plays, defend teammates, and throw momentum swinging hits. He is by no means a sniper but I think his complete package makes him a rare and extremely valuable player. There are more "Hodgson-type" players than "Kassian-type" players.
