TO's Joffrey Lupul suffered a broken forearm Wednesday, James Mirtle of the Globe & Mail reports.
It's a tough blow for the Maple Leafs, as they will now be without Joffrey Lupul's services for an extended period. He was hit on the arm by a shot from teammate Dion Phaneuf on Wednesday. An exact timetable for Lupul's recovery isn't available at the moment, but look for Clarke MacArthur to step into the first line until he's back.
This comes just days after he signed a 5yr, $5.25mil per extension. People were questioning whether that salary and term were deserved, or whether it was a significant risk, given his long history of injuries. Last season was a career one for him, but even that was just 66 games long.
Well, it appears that his 'band-aid boy' status has not been lifted with the new contract.
