Just me, or has Keith Ballard and Chris Tanev on the point on one power play looked stronger than Dan Hamhuis and Kevin Bieksa the entire season on the second unit?

Tanev and Ballard looked like they'd been playing PP together since they were born. Granted, it was a 5-on-3, but maybe AV should look into this more. Ballard is a good puck-mover, and Tanev is very calm at the point. This can make for a pairing that could QB the PP.

Not just you and i'm not surprised at all.

Ballard and Tanev have been our best D-men so far. Playing great.

Sums it up. Sweaters a guy before he drops the gloves, what a punk. I was hoping Kassian would just sweater Getzlaf and wallop his chrome dome until every last hair fell off.

Been a fan for a long time. Have a game worn jersey of his from the play off run in 2011. Glad he is showing what he can do. Hope he can play like this more.

Ballard and Tanev are arguably the Canucks best D pair so far this year. Haters can hate. But they aren't clearly true fans.

As well, the haters clearly don't lift. Cookie puss'

Next time we play the ducks I sort of wanna see Vandermeer come bend Perry over his knee, that is if Ballard doesn't do it himself beforehand hahah

I agree Ballard and Tanev were pretty beast on the Powerplay, heck Ballard was trying to set up Tanev for his first career goal and he almost got it! Better luck next time Tanev, lets keep these 2 on the PP AV!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but Ballard has already gotten the better of Perry two times before (Perry did the same thing he did today a few years back)

Tanev is a stud, for real. Ballard has obviously improved his play, and played well tonight, I will agree, but he still has a way to go to be earning that salary. He still makes pretty poor decisions in his own end. I like his toughness, and I would really like to see more of that physical play. He is at his best when he plays with that edge

It's nice to see. Ballard is injury free, and playing with a confidence he couldn't always find in previous seasons here. He looks comfortable, and I hope he continues to do well.

Ballard is a great number is defenseman that's great on both sides of the rink. Will be able to produce at least 40 points a season with the Canucks.

There, now you've heard it all

Always thought that Grabner-Ballard trade was good.

I know it didn't pan out well at the start but so far he's been solid this season.

He has noticeably improved his shot. Now Garrison and Edler definitely will get top billing, but Tanev has made some great passes and his shot is noticeably better so I can imagine them getting more opportunities as the season progresses. Freeing up Hamhuis and Bieksa to play a shutdown role again.
