Jason Garrison so far?

Give him time, he's adjusting to Western Conference, I have full confidence he will start to shine in next few games.

Exactly, he's getting use to a new team and the pressure of playing for his hometown team. Garrison has always been a hard worker and found success where ever he's played, so why would Vancouver be any different? There are a few holes on the team right now and it's magnified the growing pains Garrison has had. In the summer I said that this signing would be viewed as the best value of all the UFAs signed in the summer and I still stand by that.

tl;dr

Care to simplify?

And yeah, Garrison has displayed complete flop. Is it his fault, not necessarily. Perhaps if you read my post... but seriously, why is Garrison trying to make everything so damned complicated?

Moving away from the point during PP, creeping towards the net and guess what? NOBODY KNOWS WHERE THE HELL YOU ARE TO PASS TO! Keep it simple, stupid. He does this every time he's in the offensive zone. You really gotta get in the grove before you start thinking outside the box.

Oh, then there's his "creativity" in the defensive zone. Nice pass... to the other players. CLEAR THE PUCK! HIT THE PLAYERS! SHOOT FIRST, ASK QUESTIONS LATER! Seriously, why is Garrison passing in the offensive zone? Just shoot!

He's completely confused out there. He isn't keeping it simple, and it is VERY clear is isn't even trying to simplify because nobody has told him to. That kind of crap is on the coach, and guess what? It ain't happening.

Same thing happened with Ballard. Defensive zone "creativity". It must be something they do down in Florida or something... At any rate, that crap is on Bowness's shoulders and, ultimately, AV's as well.

Get a grip and read a post instead of flaunting your ignorance about.

It is the sedin's job to find him they are skilled and two of the best playmaker's in the league they will eventually figure out what he is doing. Also creeping defenseman adds another dimension to the power play that we did not have and will be effective when they have time to adjust to it.

Didn't the same thing happen to Hammer when he first joined and CDC was calling for his head after 10 games saying it was a bad pick-up? I guess understanding that moving across the continent to a new work environment with new players to play with is not a forgivable aspect according to CDC.

Every player we sign must be amazing when they join us or it's a bust!

I think its a little early to hit the panic button... you gotta think the guy is playing for a new team and new coach.... and that coach is AV who tends to switch up things non stop...

Have to give it some time for the guy to adjust and 6 games is not enough, not to mention he is not doing too bad... sure there are times when we cringe, but then again its not just Garrison... the entire team counts for a ton of mistakes

What makes me laugh about this thread is that I remember a guy named Wellwood who showed up rehabbing a broken foot and who was being castigated by everybody in Vancouver BEFORE HE EVER EVEN HIT THE ICE by both "fans" and even his coach (and who was making league minimum). Considered "fat" at 185 lbs. he was run out of town despite being a crafty skill player (and terrific shootout specialist which we don't need , right?) and is currently the cheapest 18 goal scorer in the NHL. Garrison will get cut all the slack he needs forever, probably because he makes a lot of dough based on one good season with a lousy team and nobody here will ever admit to our genius GM ever making a mistake. A hoot. So far he sucks IMHO.

Garrison, like Tanev, has only one giveaway so far. Too bad it went right in front to one of the hottest scorers in the league. Ballard's giveaway to Horcoff was far worse, but fortunately, it was Horcoff!

Edler, meanwhile, already has 6 giveaways. Hard to settle into a new team when your D partner keeps handing the puck back to the opposing team.

Also, Edler seems to completely ignore Garrison on the PP. No wonder Jason roams - it's his only chance at being involved in the play!

You are right, Garrison looked pretty bad last night...And Edler has been rough...But I truly believe Garrison is going to be a beast when he gets rolling, and Edler will round out as well. That looked like some terrible ice in the third period and guys were tired...So many guys were falling down, puck was bouncing all over...I think the guys just need a week or so more to get their timing down...especially for one-timers, and to eliminate bonehead passes through the middle...just wait. The main concern I have is when LA wanted to, they were able to just hammer on our team and dominate physically...We really do look small...Kassian is only 1 big tough body, nobody else seems to have any real jam...Volpatti and Weise just don't play enough shifts to be relevant on a consistent basis, especially in third period and close games. The Kings were just hammering our defence, and our forwards had no chance in puck battles along the boards. Love our speed and possession game, but when we don't have possession we are in big trouble...So maybe a few more weeks, and passes will get crisper, the twins will find their groove, Garrison will start dropping bombs on net, Kassian will keep rolling, Booth and Kes will be back, and Edler will be on top of his game...Plus we may have some new big talent up front in return for Lu. All that and I think we are gonna be good.

I'm not a fan of Garrison myself. I think he needs to be more physical!!!!! I didn't know he was so soft!!!!!! No hits - No fights - Garbage

Garrison's statsheet says he has 8 hits, which is right in the middle of the pack for our D.

I think he will settle in eventually and am not writing him off but some of the mistakes aren't 'settling in' mistakes.

Like the PP goal last night Gagne made him look rather silly and quite a few less glaring examples have occured. That's just being soft on the puck which is something we don't need from a big guy.

He gets a pass in my books for now as the rest of the D looks just as bad so I don't think 1 guy can be singled out and blamed.
