AV adding to the controversy and messing with Cory's confidence.

When Lu was the starter, he was given numerous bad games to work through it.

AV is handling Cory like he did Hodgson, Linden, Naslund.

What an A$$

Though I think Luongo has played better, he's only played 2 games and hasn't won either one (he has taken the underperforming team in front of him to a shootout though).

Personally, I would've given Cory the start, but I can't complain with either goalie in net. It's the team in front that needs to be woken up.

Let's get Lu his first win of the season!

seriously. ok now lu will obviously look good against the avs tonight. schneids gets the nod on Friday. cdc erupts Friday night because cs has another 3+ goal game, tsn panel suggests that schneids is off his game because of his poor gaa.

DIBdaQUIB: AV is sticking with the game plan that made us prez trophy winners 2 years in a row, how does that make him an ass?

Im a way bigger Cory fan than Roberto, but starting the goalie who is playing the best right now is what AV has been doing for the last two years. Just because GMMG has been shopping Luongo around doesn't change anything with AV and his job.

So.....we officially have a "goaltending controversy" now. Thanks AV, ....brilliant.

If there's one thing AV is good at, its screwing around with the brains of talented young players. Press is asking him why Lu is in tonight....he refuses to give an answer. "My call" is the only response. Its almost as if he doesn't understand what happened last Spring, he forgets that even Lu has already said it wouldn't work here for him. He's causing undue stress to Schneider and the whole team with his irrational "hunches".

Different year, different situation.

He made the decision last year that has led to the need to trade Lu and now is messing with his replacement's confidence.

Another stellar personnel decision by AV.

Canucks versus Avalanche!

LIVE ON SNET-P Radio: 1040

Luongo was day to day with a massive chip on his shoulder but he is playing tonight... He has had success against the Avelanche and the last time we lost against them was 2010, 15-0-2 in our last 17.

We are sticking with the
Hamhuis Edler
Bieksa Garrison
Ballard Tanev
pairings as well as the same forward lines.

You are all over analyzing this to the extreme. We currently have two great goaltenders. Whoever is playing better will play/they will split back to backs.

He is not sticking to what he did in the past. IN the past, the starter (LU) was given numerous games to get his mojo even though he played like crap. Cory has not been bad (1st game exception) but is now sat 2 games in a row after 4 days off?!!

Cory knows how Lu was handled and he is not being given the same treatment = messing with his confidence.

maybe he wants to let Cory play for the big game against the Hawks.

Cory needs some practice time and this is perfect timing for him to work on things to get the kinks out just in time for that game.

Yah it has nothing to do with the Vancouver/Toronoto media trying to create a story to rile up the fans who follow like sheep to whatever their favorite columnist/analyst/sportscaster tells them to think. Its all AVs fault, its not like he's ever won an award for being the best at what he does or anything, he just destroys all young talent ever handed to him

Different year, different situation?
So then Luongo's performance last year has nothing to do with being traded this year?
Or all your comments biased in favour of Schneider only?

Gee...if Cory can't handle the pressure of Luongo playing 2 games in a row - well then I guess he's not ready to be a starter.

Oh...just to be perfectly clear - we have 2 goalies capable of being a starter.
This isn't the Calgary Flamez...

So no...AV is NOT damaging Schneider. Schneider will be fine. Competition is good and Schneider will be playing against Chicago and I hope we hand the Hawks their first loss of the season.

I'm OK with the tandem idea, but it should be a 1 and 1a situation, wherein CS starts 60% of the time and Lou is brought in as situational relief.
I could see this wreaking more havoc with CS than with Lou in the long run.

Miller is not on our list. It's Lack as our #1. There is no reason we would have traded both Schnieder and Luongo if we never intended to give Lack the #1 starting job.  Furthermore, the salary and term Miller is looking for is not in our favor.

I think Roberto is starting this game because they wan't to test how Cory will do against a likely playoff opponent in Chicago.

Cory is the guy going forward, Luongo has been better, and this is a "filler" game. If I were a CS fan I'd be more upset if Luongo started the hawks game on Friday.
