J.I.A.H.N
First off, lets admit the Luongo contract is an Albatross for who ever has him, strickly on length. Secondly, lets accept that Luo is a top end goalie and not get caught arguing exactly where he ranks. We can also accept he is getting managed, but in saying that he has played well anyways! So then lets accept that Gillis wants alot for him...........maybe too much??? But in the end will probably be worth it to any team that needs him. My proposal is again with Washington and gives them total flexibility in designing the trade, but will make us stronger now and in the future. To Vancouver: A choice of Brooks Laich or Troy Brower A choice of Marcus Johansson, F.Forsberg, Tom Wison or a 2013 1st (Our choice) A choice of Goalies Neuvirth or Holtby (Our Choice) A choice of John Carlson or Karl Alzner (Their Choice) 2014 2nd To Washngton: Luongo Ballard A choice of K.Connauton,A. Rodin, Sauve, Cannata (Their Choice) 2014 or 2015 1st (Their Choice) * I think you have to be creative and there is risk on both sides. The best player traded is defiently Luongo. It is 2 roster player for 3 and it strengthens us, now and in the future. It addresses Washingtons need for a top end goalie, and for the future. What do you think? Caboose
Yes you have to give to get, so why aren't the Canucks giving?
qwijibo
hahah, you may want to use some lube on Washington to get that one past GMGM. So lopsided in Vancouvers favor its not even funny

Caboose
Not that I object to your point, but here is my thinking.....don't mind counter points if you want! Thanks Laich or Brower and Carlson or Alzner = Luongo + ( Someone suggest Gaunce) Neivirth or Holty = Ballard Their 2014 2nd = KC, Rodin, Sauve, or Cannata Only one I can see as questionable is: Johansson/Forsberg/Wilson/or 2013 for Canucks 2014 or 2015 Make adjustments please or just flame ........but I would rather give me your reasoning
timberz21
Carlsson > Luongo alone Alzner = Luongo (or close) Yes Luongo is a proven goaltender, but he's also 33 with a 10 year contract. Halak fetch Lars Eller, Ian Schultz and Aaron Palsuhaj. No Halak is not Luongo, but he did makes some mircales and brought the Habs to the East Finals. Plus, STL knew his new contract would be relatively cheap. Impact goaltender has less value than an equivalent impact forward/defenseman.
ForsbergTheGreat
Edited for what you provided To Vancouver: Troy Brower Marcus Johansson Neuvirth 2014 5th To Washngton: Luongo Raymond K.Connauton 2014 2nd What i'd try to get To Van Johansson Forsberg Poti Ward or brower To WSH Luongo Raymond or booth 1st 2014 Tanev or K.Connauton WSH gets, #1 Goalie, and 2nd line winger scoring winger. 1st 2014 draft pick, & Up and coming "D", sheds some salary VAN get #2/3 centre, future (swedish) star prospect, #2/3 grinding winger Luongo = Johanson, Ward Raymond & 1st = Forsberg Tanev > Poti (due to potential)

silver_surfer
I'm gonna get flamed for this but: To Wash: - Luongo - Raymond To Vancouver - Green - Neuvirth Washington is hurting, need goaltending and a decent winger. They have the depth to give up Green (I'd rather have Carlson but a shutdown D would make my next step make less sense) and a roster shakeup might be what they need. To Toronto - Edler - Booth - Higgins - 2013 2nd To Van - Kessel - Steckel TO fans seem to want Kessel gone, he might flourish where he isn't the one and only offensive star. Steckel is cheap, huge and pretty decent at faceoffs. It hurts to lose Edler but we need another RH dman and the other d have no trade clauses, I don't think Eddies has kicked in yet. Waive Alberts and Ebbett Sedin Sedin Kassian Burrows Kesler Kessel Steckel Schroeder Hansen Weise Malhotra Lapierre Volpatti Garrison Green Hamhuis Bieksa Ballard Tanev Barker Schneider Neuvirth
DownUndaCanuck
Keep it simple. Schneider for Johansen, Neuvirth and either Forsberg or a 1st pick. Canucks get more Swedish talent, are more solidified down the middle and get a backup, plus some help for the future. Johansen would fill the 3rd line center role perfectly (40 point player) in between Raymond and Hansen or even Schroeder. Meanwhile we keep the better goalie in Luongo, Washington get a goalie who wants to really prove himself as a #1 guy.
Spyderr
^^^^ Schneider will not get you all that I would think more Schneider for Johanson and a 2nd I would rather trade schneids for Ryan Johanson in Columbus one for one
