Let's say Iginla gets traded for prospects and picks..............

If he goes to the Penguins, I'd say he has about a 9 / 10 chance of winning.

If he goes to the Canucks I'd say he has about a 7 / 10 chance of winning.

Would you say those odds are fair?

I wouldn't mind seeing Sid hand the cup off to Iginla, reminiscient of Burnaby Joe passing it of Raymond Bourque.

That Top 6 is nothing to be scared about. Sure, Crosby and Malkin are top 5 players in the NHL but if they're shut down for a whole series, where will the scoring come from? Teams from the East in my eyes that can shut down not only Crosby, but Malkin at the same time in an entire seven game series are the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. Otherwise, the Pens would just steamroll over anyone who dares to come in their path.

"Nothing to be scared about"!

Sidney Crosby feeding Jarome Iginla would have the whole league shaking in their collective boots. Crosby in the best player in the game, even when he's skating alongside Pascal Dupuis. Imagine him no longer having to look sky-high, when his linemates bungle a beautiful set-up! Now, even if you manage to shut that line down, you've still got to contend with the reigning MVP/Art Ross winner and his 40-goal scoring partner in crime.

Iginla with the Sedins would be deadly. Or teamed with Kesler and Burrows while leaving Kassian on 1st line. Either way, Canucks are a team built to win now so I'd trade picks for Iginla if there was a way to get him.

LOL

Methinks you need to temper your expectations a bit.

All you can say for sure is that if Iginla is traded to a playoff team, he'll have a 1/16 chance at winning...which is 1/16 higher than if he stays in Calgary.

Having 3 50-goal scorers on the ice at the same time would be scary for any team to face in the dying seconds of a game. Just imagine their powerplay unit:

Iginla - Crosby - Malkin
Letang - Neal

That is an All-Star team. The Rangers better pray this is all a joke of a rumour.

The whole league better pray.

Although I agree with the ppl Iggy padded his olympic stats against weak teams. Don't forget the clutch plays he made in gold medal games in Vancouver and Salt Lake.

I understand Iginla isn't the same player he used to be. He's not as physical, seems a bit slower at the start of this season, but he's notorious for slow starts. Still manages to pot 30 goals on the regular (very unlikely this season). What bugs me about his play now is he just waits for the pass more than just trying to create the play. I hate when he shoots high and wide, seems like he does it way to often.

Raymond and Connaugton back to Alberta, plus Sauve and a 3rd round pick for Iginla and Jackman.

Depends which version of Marc-Andre Fleury shows up in the playoffs.

If it's the 2012 version, I would peg the odds closer to 0 / 1000 chance of winning.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

That's a good point, but I don't blame all of last year on Fleury. Also, he did play extremely well and won a cup a few years back. He's also a goalie on Team Canada, so he can't be all bad.

If the Penguins got Iginla for prospects and picks they would be my favorite to win the cup.
