NuxFan09
The Wolves will be playing tonight for the first time in a week due to the AHL All-Star break. It'll be a tough game, as they're up against Milwaukee's workhorse goalie Jeremy Smith, who leads the AHL in games and minutes played, shots against and saves, and sports a 2.40 GAA and .919 Save%. Seems the Admirals rely on a great goalie the way their parent team, the Predators, relies on Pekka Rinne. Hoping to see another great game from some Canucks prospects who have excelled lately, like Joe Cannata and Peter Andersson. It would also be nice to see Kevin Connauton start to heat up and Alex Friesen get his first pro goal. I'll be watching the first part of this game before the Canucks game starts, for sure! NuxFan09
BTW, some Wolves news: The Wolves re-assigned center Kenton Miller to the Central Hockey League and signed left wing Devin DiDiomete to a tryout contract. http://www.chicagowolves.com/news/releases/item/3489-wolves-sign-didiomete-send-miller-to-missouri
Ossi Vaananen
Cannata for sure getting the start? Connauton's stock has really dropped.
Smashian Kassian
Is Cannata starting? Do we have a line-up? Haven't seen a Wolves game in awhile, if it is on FirstRow I might catch a bit of it till the Nucks/Hawks game starts.
elvis15
Yup, have that and some Canada 7s rugby I want to watch prior to the Canucks game tonight.

NuxFan09
Gotta love Friday's! Besides any Canucks game that happens to land on a Friday, you've got most of the Canucks' prospects in action. There are AHL games on Fridays, college games, major junior games and quite often games in Europe, although this time around our Swedish prospects played yesterday and will play again tomorrow. Anyway, nothing from Jason Shaver on Twitter yet about lineups or the starting goalie. There isn't even a game preview on the Wolves website, which I find pretty amateur. NuxFan09
Jim Vandermeer is making his debut for the Wolves tonight, Cannata IS in net for the Wolves.
NuxFan09
Friesen gets his first AHL goal! He got himself into a scoring situation and chipped home a loose puck after Desbiens took the initial shot. Recently signed DiDiomete also picks up an assist on the goal. 1-0 Wolves. NuxFan09
Wow, the Wolves are killing it! Another rush by the Wolves results in a goal by Michael Davies! 4-0 Wolves!

elvis15
So it's what, Freisen, Sweatt, Desbiens, and Davies? Good to see Freisen with his first, he's been unlucky not to get it until now.
NuxFan09
The Admirals will start the 2nd period on a 5 on 3, but good PK'ing by the Wolves at the end of the 1st period regardless.

NuxFan09
End of 1st. 4-0 Wolves. Shots: 14-7 Wolves 1st period scoring: CHI Friesen 1 (DiDiomete, Desbiens) 6:06 CHI Sweatt 7 (Hunt)(PP) 8:49 CHI Desbiens 2 (unassisted) 12:50 CHI Davies 5 (Archibald) 14:
NuxFan09
Wolves on the PP now. 2nd unit is currently on the ice, which consists of Archibald - Kattelus - Davies down low and Matheson-Connauton on the point. Kattelus scores HIS first AHL goal now! It was the result of a flurry of chances in front of the Milwaukee goalie after a big Connauton slapper. 5-0 Wolves. NuxFan09
Wolves to the PP again. Unfortunately, the Admirals score shorthanded right away. Mark Van Guilder got the goal, I think, from Kevin Henderson. Two, three more shorthanded chances for the Admirals but Cannata stays strong in net. Sloppy PP for the Wolves, to say the least. Millerdraft
My God are Cannata's stats ever solid at the AHL level for a raw rookie.
NuxFan09
Wolves just finished killing a Desbiens penalty. They're a perfect 4 for 4 so far on the PK. Cannata has been great! He just made a sharp save on a re-directed shot.
