Take a seat Schneider and get comfy, Luongo's this team's starter again and there's no denying it. He is this team's MVP right now along with Kassian.

As for the rest of the team, solid defence, no offence, but it was good enough to beat one of the best, hottest teams in the league who have been scoring at a torrid pace. A good defence/goalie beats a good offence and we just did.

The twins have been off for a while now, they looked alright tonight but didn't do much apart from the goal. Passes are still off. Kassian made a brilliant pass to Edler for the goal and had some really good defensive play, he is our best skater right now.

Our 2nd line was invisible tonight. Hansen had some good forechecks but Higgins and Burrows were terrible, Higgins messed up big time on the Kane goal - that was his man and he let the pass go straight through the crease (along with the defenceman).

Our 3rd line looked great, Schroeder and Raymond have some serious chemistry and their speed is bringing us powerplays and catching teams by surprise. Hope this kid sticks with the big club, even when Kesler returns. It's always good to have plenty of centers and one thing this team lacks without him is speed.

4th line wasn't bad but not many hits, Lapierre was the only noticeable player there.

Our defence was spectacular, lead by Tanev and Ballard. Hamhuis and Bieksa played an amazing game, physical when they needed to be but great sticks in lanes and solid positioning. Garrison and Edler had another tough night though, Edler a nice goal but got schooled by a rookie and embarassed a couple of times while Garrison took some really stupid, bad-timed penalties.

Obviously Luongo was the team's best player and deserves to start until he has a bad game. With just 1 goal in 65 minutes and plenty of powerplays, the Canucks didn't deserve to win tonight but Luongo single-handedly stole it for them. Last season he didn't really steal this team any wins, but this year he's done that a few times. As for the shootout, that was unbelievable. Toews and Kane are probably the 2 best shootout guys in the league, they put on their typical characteristic moves and Luongo read them both like a book. Again, we go a pathetic 1/4 in the shootout but Luongo's amazing saves made sure that was all we needed. This team owes Lu big time right now and better start scoring soon.

As for any potential Luongo trade, if it happens now this team misses the playoffs. We would be at the bottom of the barrel without these heroic games that Luongo is stealing us, instead he's keeping us afloat in the West almost by himself. You don't trade away a franchise goalie, let alone a top-3 NHL goalie statistically.
