hudson bay rules
closing down some Future Shops? Those families with one uncle and fifteen family members in one store are going to have to find other jobs...
McBackup
A lot of things like movies, video games or music seems like it's foolish to not buy online (or pirating seems to be the popular thing to do these days). But for things like TVs or stereos I like to actually go in and look at the picture or hear the sound quality. I see quite a few tv's that are very expensive and high quality, that I just straight up don't like the picture quality on. It would suck to order something like that online and not like the product once its installed. Its the same reason I don't buy clothing online. If I go into the store I can try it on, see how it fits, see how the material is, etc.
Common sense
In 10-20 years there will be almost no retail brick and mortar stores. Everything will be done online with the exception of groceries. If you have a job in retail I suggest finding something new.
The Colt 45s
Cost of shipping freight to the Island must be another factor for a couple of those closings.
McBackup
Yeah, but even groceries can now be bought online - check out this South Korean subway example http://www.digitaltr...res-in-subways/
The Colt 45s
Best Buy is getting rocked in the US, but they're facing the juggernaut Amazon.com. I'm glad about a few Future Shop are being closed because I can't stand their vulture-esque commission based employees, but it's too bad about Best Buy. NightHawkSniper
I prefer buying in store, I can get the item right away, plus I can see it in store, and see if I like it or if theres another similar product which catches my eye.
Common sense
It's convenient shopping online though, reviews for products are a click away.

McBackup
A lot of people go to a B&M store and take advantage of the service staff etc and then order the products online without compensating the store and/or staff for their time and expertise. hudson bay rules
That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. You're already there, just buy it. Why would you then go home and wait three weeks for a discount thats nullified by shipping costs?
Wetcoaster
In the US, BB, in store, matches online prices
NightHawkSniper
There's a lot of intangibles that you can only experience firsthand with the actual model. For example, the size of the shift keys compared to the ASDFJKL; position, or whether the trackpad interferes with the palms of your hands. I actually had my heart set on a laptop for its cost until I realized that there were so many flaws with it ergonomically that it would be a pain in the arse for me if I did get it.
