Normally don't like to see people get hurt, this is an exception.

"Marchand went down to injury at 6:30 of the second after he collided with Leafs defenseman Mike Komisarek and then the goal post as he swooped in on Reimer. The puck ended up bouncing off a Bruin and into the net, but after review it was deemed that the referee was in the process of whistling the play dead following the incidental contact between Marchand and Reimer. Marchand seemed to be favoring his shoulder on the Bruins’ bench and did not return to the game."

Certainly going to be our #1 defensemen. Give him a couple more years to improve his game and he'll be our new and improved version of Matthias Ohlund in no time

I wonder if anyone will frame the picture and display it with their awards like the Bruin's ownership did with Miller

Now, now, guys...

As much as we're all bitter, there's still nothing good about seeing someone get hurt.

Game after Shawn Thornton went down, this db goes down. Interesting.

The Bruins aren't the same. Off the juice now i guess.

Meanwhile, they still won. Over TO, i know. And Buffalo, my 'new NE division Kings' lost HORRIBLY to the Habs. So the Bruins will live i guess.

Good to see Marchand go down though. Hopefully career-threatening.

Don't care. I hope his injury is so severe that he has to retire.

Tell that to Daniel, who could have gotten injured by Marchand, and Salo.

Wish him a speedy recovery.
He's one of the leagues best agitators, and the reactions in this thread are a testament to that.

And what happens we he tries to injure others on purpose?

Oh wait... he was just "protecting" himself.

His actions have bordered on -- and sometimes passed -- what is acceptable in an NHL game. I don't think anybody's going to argue that.

That does not mean anyone should be exhilarated by his injury, however severe it may be. I can't speak for either one of Daniel or Salo, but I certainly wouldn't expect them to wish him ill.

There is a difference between being an agitator and someone that cheapshots players. He is as sneaky as they come. He is almost like a magician with the way he will trick players into thinking he is going to do one thing and then do another (like when he pretended like he was going to play the puck and then took out salo). Sneaky and dirty. At least when Cooke went and cheapshot'd players it was pretty obvious that he was a complete scumbag. Marchand tries to defend himself all of the time and make it seem incidental and that he is protecting himself. Such a weasel.

Rumours of shoulder separation.

Hey, I never said that. If I had my somewhat biased way, he'd never have played another game after his attack on Salo.

That doesn't mean I should be happy about him getting hurt.

Funny how some of the players we hate are getting injured:

Ben Eager with a concussion (could be the end of his career because of his history)
Dave Bolland got hit in the ankle and is not playing tonight
Marchand with a separated shoulder

Exactly. He's not an agitator, he's a dirty and dangerous player..

Too bad it wasn't a head separation.

Stay classy Canucks fans.

Marchand is one of my favorite players. Just as Jägermeister said, and you've all evidenced, Marchand is one of the league's best agitators. He is also a talented top 6 forward. That's makes for a valuable package. But what makes him so endearing to me is the fact that he has heart. In last year's playoffs, Game 7 of the Bruins - Capitals series, the B's looked gassed. They weren't playing their best hockey. But one guy on the ice wearing black and yellow stood out: Brad Marchand. Whenever the kid is on the ice, his motor is going full speed. That's an admirable trait- one you don't find in many players. Would absolutely love to have him on the Canucks.

Hopefully he can get back on the ice soon.
