So basically this means Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin are going to be Canucks.

Realistically their only scouting WSH players. PIT doesn't need a goalie. Bet their looking at Johansson, Alzner, Carlson. Not sure which prospects they have in the lineup?

I don't want to see Lu traded at this point.
  • 33

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Wow. Maybe the the Lui to the Caps rumors have some teeth. I'd think that typically you'd have scouts at these games so for Gillis and Gillman to be there you'd think that this may be getting serious. Washington has some excellent prospects and decent second and third liners we could use.

It's getting close....

The Caps need a goalie more so than the Pens.

Dare to dream about OV. Who knows, let's all remember if the great one could be traded, so could anyone else.

Lui, Ballard, Burrows, and a first would be fair IMO

You know...as great a player as he is, I'm not sure I want Ovi on this team. Maybe his best days are behind him, maybe he's bored in Washington, maybe it's the getting married soon... just don't think he'd be a fit with the leadership on this team. Who knows.

Guys - the amount of quality players it would take to get Ovechkin is insane. You'd be overpaying, they'd want something like both Sedins and another roster player... Not Luongo.

Good news!! I'm hoping we do a deal with Washington

I think Lu would waive his NTC to go to both teams but I have a feeling if Luongo went to Pittsburgh...it would be an instant-cup. There would be way too much skill to not win a cup, and Luongo is WAAAY better than both Fleury and Vokoun

He'd be good in Washington too, and I like Washington's players, but Johannsen is too soft, I'd do:
To VAN-Kuznetsov, Brouwer/Laich
To WASH-Lu

Yep, especially considering the Canucks have a game tomorrow against Edmonton. It's not like we're close to Washington and this is a convenient little stop for Gillis and Co. The day before a game in the Canadian West, Gillis and his assistant go out of their way to travel to the Eastern States to catch an early game. Seems like they're pretty serious about something.

Makes sense too. I could definitely see Capitals management not being too crazy about their goaltending right now, even if they were totally comfortable with it before the season starter. They're a team that has a lot of pressure to win now so they might not have the luxury of waiting these struggles out. For a win-now team, Luongo might look mighty attractive right about now.

Brouwer seems most likely. Adds a bit of muscle to the top nine. Seems like a good guy too. He's also from Vancouver.

Brouwer + a propsect and a pick?

Just MG playing the game. Making it look like a deal is close with Washington to get the other teams off their butts and anti-up. :bigblush:
