If Francois Allaire has turned around Luongo's game this last summer where does that leave Melanson in the Canucks organisation ?? Are we not getting the best potential out of our goalies ?

Its not an issue of what about rollie. Lou has been working on fundamentals with allaire, like playing square and maintaining balance over his skates, not reaching out and being patient. No goalie coach trys to change a style because at this level its about tweaking and adjustments. Melanson is probably working on the same things, so, no conflict.

Melanson is the goalie coach. Luongo works with Allaire in the summer. That's all there is to it.

What is the deal with Mike Gillis, it always seems like he's sweating...

You can't have two #1 goalie coaches, Gillis has to trade one or the other.

I think Schneider went to the Theo Fleury hockey school over the Summer.

I'm sure everything would be just fine if they designated one of them as a 1A goalie coach, and the other as a 1a goalie coach.

Wasn't there some talk in the summer about Nik Lidstrom's favourite ever goalie coming back for a coaching position too?

I'm pretty sure that was a joke... draws a parallel to our current coaching situation... get it?

I almost thought Allaire could take over as goaltending coach. Surprised he's no longer employed by an NHL team.

I learned when I was 7 or 8 that trying to ride a goalie paddle down the ice was way more difficult than with a player's stick.
So as long as Cory doesn't do that he's good.
