(proposal) several trades

8 posts in this topic

#1)Vancouver trades G Roberto Luongo, LW Mason Raymond and D Chris Tanev to Washington for LW/C Filip Forsberg, C Brooks Laich*(when he is healthy), G Michal Neuvirth and a 2013 1st round draft pick.

this gives Washington an immediate improvement up and down the lineup. Luongo gives them an world class goaltender who can steal games, Raymond gives them secondary scoring and Tanev gives them a solid defensive defense man to help them on defense(I hate to give up Tanev but its necessary)

We get a top prospect, a great 3rd line center with grit and leadership, a decent backup and a 1st round draft pick.

#2)Vancouver trades D Keith Ballard and RW Dale Weise to NYI for RW Matt Martin, G Kevin Poulin and a 2013 3rd round draft pick

NYI gets a top 4 defenseman and a replacement for Martin in Weise. We dump Ballards contract and gain a good 4th liner, a goalie prospect and a 3rd rounder. This improves the Islanders and frees up a bunch of cap-space for us.

line-up when healthy(capgeek is really screwed up right now):

D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Kassian

Burrows-Kesler-Booth

Higgins-Laich-Hansen

Lapierre-Malholtra-Martin

/Volpatti

Edler-Hamhuis

Bieksa-Garrison

Vandermeer-Barker

/Alberts

Schneider

Neuvirth

The first trade is a steal for us. Laich is a solid player, Forsberg is a top tier prospect, and Neuvrith is decent for a backup. Plus the 3rd rounder to top it off.

Washington would say no, and I don't know why you'd wanna trade Tanev...............

Our defence looks miserable after this. I think we can all agree the first deal has Washington getting robbed.

Ballard and Tanev are our best dmen right now.. there playing solid why would you want to get rid of them?

Washington hangs up before we even call.. thats pure robbery

and second deal, what does that do for us?
