(GDT) Chicago Wolves vs Peoria Rivermen - 2/5/13, 9:00AM PST

30 posts in this topic

The Wolves have a very early rematch with the Peoria Rivermen tomorrow morning. Peoria beat the Wolves a couple days ago 5-3 and also beat them in their previous meeting 2-0 so the Wolves will be looking to bump the slump against this team.

I don't anticipate too many changes to the lineup. You may see a different defenseman swap in, like Polasek, as a couple defensemen struggled last game. Cannata in all likelihood will get the start in goal and the forward lines worked pretty well last game so I imagine they'll stay the same. Will confirm the lines and the starter tomorrow morning.

GO WOLVES!

It's already 1-1, as T.J. Hensick scored on the Rivermen's first shot of the game and Haydar quickly answered with his 10th goal of the year for the Wolves.

Mike McKenna is in net for the Rivermen, while Cannata gets the start again for the Wolves.

Fight! It's Darren Archibald and Tony Beach of the Rivermen going at it.

Andersson puts the puck over the glass and as a result the Rivermen will go on a 5 on 3.

Good kill. As usual, guys like Miller and Desbiens were rock solid.

The top line of Sweatt - Gordon - Haydar getting a flurry of chances here and controlling the puck down low.

4 on 4 hockey right now. Btw, Nathan Longpre is skating in this game for the Wolves. I believe his return was hinted at by Arniel the other day.

Another update: Matt Climie skated this morning with the other injured Wolves and is hoping to start the game on Friday against the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Scores! Haydar gets his 2nd of the season off a nice shot from high in the slot. The goal comes at the tail end of the 4 on 4 and now the Wolves will get a brief PP. Kattelus and Connauton draw assists on the goal.

2-1 Wolves.

Nice! Good to hear Longpre's back as well, and I've been impressed by Miller all year (as a reliable, bottom 6 guy).

And we're tied again. A lucky bounce off the back boards results in an easy tap in past an unsuspecting Cannata by McRae.

3-3.
