sedated
Goaltending is debatable. Thomas got lit up against Tampa. Chicago and Philly had "LOL" goaltending and they both made it on either side with offense and defense. Quick was great, but LA was just.. crazy. Boston had goaltending but they were great all the way through, including when Tampa was going crazy on them and they just outscored them. The year the Pens won Fleury was a sieve, he was great the year before when they lost. You need a functional team. If your goalie has a bad game every now and then, you need the offense to be able to help him out. We did not have that. If your offense isn't very good some nights, you need the goaltending and defense to back them up. Our playoff offense sucks. Our defense and goaltending was doing well enough until half our top 6 was injured or suspended.
D-Money
I don't see how 1 impact forward would have changed anything against Boston with our D-corps ravaged. We weren't even CLOSE in any of the losses. Was that guy going to score 5 goals in one game? Because that's what we needed to win a 4th.
Goalscorer
Detroit disproves pretty much every "Cup Winner" theory. "You need tough Canadians" "You need to tank for a few years and get good picks" "You need youth"
