Ilya Mikheyev
This visit needs a separate thread from the Luongo one, since it probably had little to with Luongo.. Friedman's 17th thought today: 17. Undoubtedly, the Gillis/Laurence Gilman eastern excursion was to scout potential trade partners and free-agent targets. The two conferences don't see each other this season, so you don't get that close-up look if you stay home. Don't forget, the Canucks pitched Cody Hodgson to Washington last season for John Carlson. Hard to see Capitals GM George McPhee parting with the young defender, even with that new hairstyle.

Smashian Kassian
I hoping we sign Laganiere. 6'4, 215 and a PPG. And Carlson isn't coming here, they won't trade him for Luongo and Carlson is a huge part of there team, I don't see him moving. Also MG said he was there scouting the Pens and Caps to get a feel for what they are like and how they play, to begin to get a book on them. Smashian Kassian
I agree. It's interesting though, with the way WSH is struggling it makes me wonder if GMGM will do anything or hope things smooth out.

WonderTwinPowers
Yeah Mallet will be the toughest outta all them fighting wise. I hope Gaunce doesn't throw down to much, only to defend himself or a teammate. Mallet will actually look for the fight
