Honestly it's not even just that. I mean he's not a player who's great in his own end and that's to be expected at this point. His positioning is good close to the net but anywhere else he's looked off. When you're a bit of a one dimensional guy on the ice that's a problem. His game will come along without question but like I said he seems off to me.

Well his game has always revolved around passing and hockey sense. So when he's in the offensive zone, he's gonna have no problem setting up plays.

But when it comes to beating guys to the puck, back checking, and winning puck battles, that part of his game will likely always be lacking to some degree. That's just not the type of player he is. His poor skating stride and lack of agressiveness will never allow him to be that kind of player. Which there's nothing wrong with, but at this point this team needs more guys like Kesler, and less guys like Hodgson.

A simpler question for you to understand, WHAT IF he didn't rack those points up playing for the canucks

with all the respect sir, you are quite right. He can't hit or backcheck and he can't PK. No wonder they said he had missing pieces to his game when he was compared to Stamkos in the draft. They analysis said taht he is missing his strides in his skating and that's something he needs to develop but he hasn't got it

Matter of opinion.

If you're a Coho fan you should be concerned with how his game is looking this season. Something is up with his play. I'm thinking you haven't been watching too many Buffalo games.

THIS^ OP you are an idiot who I assume simply wanted to make controversy.

I've watched 3 Buffalo games this season and Cody looked awkward in every one of them.

I'm glad Buffalo is getting something out of Cody though, we didn't draft him for no reason, however what was Cody going to do? Take Hanks spot, the best playmaker in the NHL today? Sorry NOPE! Take Kesler's spot, Top 3 2 way forwards in the game? Nope!

The right move was to trade, we are all just lucky that Gillis got Kassian for the trade because before the trade I never even knew who he was.

Tomas Vanek: 19 Points
Jason Pominville: 14 Points
Cody Hodgson: 10 Points

Not trying to knock Cody cause I think he has gotten better but you can clearly see Cody has benefited, and even then he isn't quite at there level.

Hodgson is going to be one of the best players in the league. Many here won't like it, but that's the plain truth. Eventually it will go down as one of the worst trades. And get used to it because we still talk about the Neely trade. I was extremely disappointed we ditched Hodgson and I don't buy the rumours/crap people post about that here. Cody didn't fit into the current team gameplan/culture and got moved for someone who did. But Cody IS the better player.

Just sayin.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

One of the best in the league? That's pretty funny.

The fact that he only has 4 more points in one more game than Kassian, isn't that impressive. He is a year older, and supposed to be the superior offensive player after all. He's also playing with the league's leading scorer.

Kassian brings more to the table than Hodgson. Sorry if you can't come to terms with that. But being a better player, doesn't mean scoring 4 more points. It means playing at both ends of the rink, playing physical, and sticking up for teammates. Those are all aspects of being a good player.

He wanted to play here, just not under a goof ball.
Hodgson is in the top 20 scoring of all NHL skaters.
He is averaging 45% in the circle against NHL first line centermen.
I listened to Doug MacLean(ex GM of CBJ) on the TEAM and he said that Hodgson is doing great.
Nice to see a former Canuck do so well.
