News1130 Sports has learned former Vancouver Giants goalie Tyson Sexsmith has signed with AHL Abbotsford Heat as backup. #AHL

Doesn't say anything about the Flames signing him but given the circumstances it's possible they did and assigned him to Abby

No - the Flames signed Danny Taylor and then recalled him

Sexsmith was signed by Abbotsford to a AHL deal.

Thanks for clarification. Title changed to reflect that.

Yup, they only had Barry Prust available after Taylor got called up to backup Irving. Karlsson was claimed off waivers iirc, so the Heat needed a backup in Taylor's absence.

If this team lets go of Sang he will burn this team next year.

Now, I wonder if they signed him to an ATO or for the rest of the year.

He'll look great playing alongside LBJ, Bosh, and Wade

Karlsson was traded to Chicago for a 7th round pick.

How differently things might have worked out for Sexsmith had he had a better attitude that last year playing for the Giants...
As soon as you're born you start dying, so you might as well have a good time.

Kinda funny since the previous goalie Dustin Slade just simply left the team and effectively killed his hockey career, lol.

Yeah I'm excited to see how he'll play. I think his shooting percentage will go way up because he's gonna get a lot of open looks. You think he'll be playing the 3 or the 4 spot? From beyond the arc, he's an excellent 45% shot. Who needs Ray Allen when you got Tyson Sexsmith. He better not commit a goal tending offense cuz those get called off.

Nothing against Sexsmith, but he always was the beneficiary of playing on great Vancouver Giants teams. Good luck to him in Abbotsford.

Hey, I guess I could go get tickets to his games again if I wanted to.
