Maybe but the only motive behind him doing that is the boys in the locker room getting a kick out of it. Everyone knows he's great, he will start again, if he really wanted to be traded he could follow CoHo's route. He has lots of time to up his value for his next mega contract. He a Luongo are friends my guess is they actually want somewhat of a tandem for the season. Does he want to play more? of course, every goalie does, I bet Luongo even wants to play more. But they are Canucks and if I was a Canuck, I would just want the team to win and we can figure business stuff out in the offseason.

well the last couple of wins for loungo, if that was acting, cory could win an oscar.... he looked nothing but supportive and happy for lou, especially after the shoot-out win. i think they are pretty tight, i understand why you want to play more being in the top 12 in the leauge, but i think cory knows a team is in fact a team.

We should never have humiliated Luongo in the first place goading him into saying things like he will accept a trade for the team. It must have been heart breaking for a guy with so much pride, yet so much humility to be slapped in the face after the job he has done for this Club.

He is too good for Vancouver. The Canucks and the fans will get what they deserve and in my mind it is all down to the way MG and the media jackals have played this farce.

I don't know if I fully believe that Cory had no idea what his agent was saying. I am sure he wasn't thrilled about not play the past few games but I hope he does well tonight.
In the end I like both goalies and I hope we keep them both for at least this season.

So much hate and stupidity in this thread.

You guys know you don't HAVE to be dicks to players on the team right? Like it's not a mandatory thing to pick team Lu or team Schneider. You can actually be (and gather in close because this is apparently a secret) team Canucks.

Babe ,when GIllis goes on the record multiple times in the past months and recent weeks saying he is trading Luongo what does that mean and entail for Cory between the pipes in Vancouver?
Pretty hard to convince some people which way the wind is blowing.

This. Babe, are you by any chance a lawyer, or an aspiring one?

Yeah. I read a post awhile ago - not sure if it was here or HFBoards - that made a lot of sense to me. It went something like fans in Vancouver actually have a deep, irrational HATRED for the Canucks. I don't know if it's because of the years of disappointment and heartbreaks or what. Anyway, I just thought that made some kind of weird sense to me. It's actually pretty evident when you listen to the radio, read the papers and listen to the fans in this city. There's veiled hate everywhere.

Anyone feels worry for CS? What if he lets in 4 goals tomorrow and the Canucks lost 4-3? hum.....

The he should get the same slack Lou got every time he got railed for 4+ goals. Start him again.
You can't build character/confidence if you're not allowed to redeem yourself when you fail.
This is a set up. If CS gets lit up the next time he starts and AV sits him for 4/5 games, it will definitely have a negative impact on CS's psyche. I know he's a gracious guy, but the human mind is very predictable in terms of how it responds to stress.
It's great having two great goalies, and it's great that both of them have turned out to be so classy, but this hot hand thing has gone a little too far. I mean, who takes over for AV when he falters? No-one comes in to relieve him. He starts every game. He's able to bounce back after tough losses, no?

Miller is not on our list. It's Lack as our #1. There is no reason we would have traded both Schnieder and Luongo if we never intended to give Lack the #1 starting job.  Furthermore, the salary and term Miller is looking for is not in our favor.

I'm very glad he wasn't the one who told him to that, I sure hope it's the truth and not because he realized he had made a mistake afterwards. lol I actually had assumed that it was him, which I'm now sorry for. I've gained my respect back for him, I really didn't want to see another Hodgson fiasco happen to Schneids.

Yeah, I believe him. Unlike you he doesn't call others down and speak like a child. Adults don't have to call each other down before they have conversations with others, and then lie about the result.

Schnieder = Truth
Scarface173 = Whiny, simple, imbecilic, POS moron.

Yeah ... that's about covers it.

YOU HOPE WE LOSE?

What a rube. Not the first idiotic comment you've made.

In response:

I just want to state that I am not engaging in an argument with you, rather I wish to bring forth a few thoughts I have in regards to your post response to my opinion.

I am not sure what "calling others down" means, assuming you mean putting others down.

Im not putting anyone down, Im stating a fact. Fact, I do not believe Cory didn't know his agent was going to make comments related to his position with the team. As a result of my perception, I believe he is in fact acting like a spoiled, child.

You said "Adults don't have to call each other down." You then proceeded to suggest that I was "whiny," which is fine this is an opinion that should be stated, you twice suggest my mental faculties are not on par with the standard level of sanity in society, finally you conclude with the acronym POS, which I can only assume means "Piece of ****."

Do you understand how hypocritical this post is? I mean really, how hypocritical this post is...

Honestly, has anything that Schneider has done in his time here make you think that he would be that type of person?

He's been nothing but patient and classy this whole time, even though he could have easily demanded a trade years ago. I mean, look at Bernier in LA. He has already said he wants out and he's a few years younger than Cory.

The fact that Cory was drafted 8 years ago and has stuck with this organization through all of this, just shows how loyal he is. I don't think most players would be as patient and as understanding as he has been. We should be thankful to have a great guy like him on this team.

Truth is we can argue all we want, but there's no conclusive evidence either way. Maybe Schneider didn't tell his agent to say that stuff and the agent did speak out of turn. He'd hardly be the first agent to put his foot in his client's mouth. (Though the fact that Schneider didn't say in the interview that he was upset with what had been said and would address the comments with the agent but did claim to not know if it'd been made into a big deal despite being interviewed about it would certainly seem to support the "he knew" argument.) Maybe he did say that stuff, and then just lied about it after he saw the negative reaction. He'd hardly be the first athlete to whine to get his way and be less than honest in the interest of protecting their public image. (Though the fact that Schneider has never shown any kind of whininess or blatant image molding dishonesty before would certainly seem to support the "he didn't know" argument.) So it's really pointless for any of us to act like we know what the truth is and that anyone who believes in the other possibility is an idiot.

In the end, we can't hold it against him like he's a weak, whining, entitled brat and we can't praise him or feel sorry for him like he's the victim of a big mouthed agent's misstep because we don't know which he deserves. So, let's just call it a wash and judge him by the only thing that should matter — his on ice performance.

Schneider would not even be here if him and his agent knew the goalie situation would be like this.

It's common knowledge at this point that Schneider and his agent only agreed to the new contract based on the assumption that Schneider would be getting most of the starts and Luongo would be gone by now via trade. This is why you don't make assumptions

really is that what the deal is? is that why Luongo is still here and is far outplaying Schneider so far?

the deal has changed, if MG knew Luongo was going to come back and play like this the thought of trading him would have never even entered his head in the offseason

U are a pathetic person. Put itself in his shoes for 1 second before u say something so dumb. He has been a legitimate #1 for probably at least a year or two and wants his chance. Signed with us thinking he is going to get a chance. Still is a solid teammate regardless how frustrating this might be. He has shown his true colours for a long time and I respect the guy for it

So this means he is named the #1 as opposed to another #1 on the team? Oh wait, I must be pathetic too for thinking that is logical, of course you are correct.
