Guest Dasein
I would keep Volpatti. This guy doesn't just hit - he runs through his opponents. Weise's hands aren't that much better than Volpatti's to keep him in the lineup ahead of him while Volpatti's hitting is significantly better than Weise's. That's pretty much it. And Volpatti's already scored a goal - for a guy who's supposedly better offensively, Weise hasn't produced any results - and with no results, no games. Although, I did notice that Volpatti tends to leave his feet sometimes when making some big hits - this may get him into suspension troubles later on... Kesler's Nose
When our line up is healthy they will both probably be watching from the sidelines anyways. I like the grit they can bring though, so they may get the call against certain teams. I like Weise because of the small scoring touch he has at times, Volapatti on the other hand is the tougher player of the two and also finishes his checks quite a lot. I'm happy with both for depth, they've proven themselves in the time they have been here.
Erik Karlsson
I'm not really a fan of Weise, not good enough hands or finishing touch for top 9 and doesn't hit or fight enough for the 4th line. I'd way rather have Volpatti in when Booth and Kes return.
Xur
Volpatti seems to open up the ice more. He plays with a lot of heart and it shows. He reminds me of a young Burrows in the way that he plays with more ethic then skill and it could pay off for him.
Bodee
those are good videos.... and i already said i liked volpatti, and i stand corrected. i am not ashamed or too proud to admit that. i appreciate you showing some wicked vids to prove me wrong!!! still would rather have schroeder in my line up though. damn those were some bad @$$ hits!!! were they all from 2011??? seriously not trying to be a smart @$$, i just dont know

CanucksSayEh
Weise was very good in his 2 playoff games with us last year after Kass got benched. Hit plenty, and when he was paired with Raymond and Lapps, they put the pressure on LA for a few shifts. I don't see why we can't keep em both A Patty-Lapps-Weise line sounds pretty damn good. Shift-4
Tough call. I went with Volpatti but the one thing that really stands out for Weise is his speed on the forecheck.
Tearloch7
At least I know Volpatti is a tough guy. Weise? I don't know what he is....he is not a tough guy, nor is he a guy who can hit hard, score goals...what is he? He is nothing.
Peaches
Weise is the better all-round player. Volpatti is the better 4th liner.
Tearloch7
I would keep them both, because if they play 4th line and must hit and fight occasionaly as part of their "game", then we will need them both, as both will be injured regularly. Players their size canna take the wear and tear of a full season on the 4th line ..
WeDreamOfStanley
Neither is, or ever will be looked to to provide offense, so sticking with that, Patti is better. They are both 4th line guys and Patti plays the role, and fits the role a lot better... he's been a 3rd or 4th type of player his whole life, that's what he knows and that's what he plays, and hes been doing what is expected of him in that role wonderfully so far this season. Erik Karlsson
I would have said Weise after the first 2 games of the season where he looked really good but only because it was everyone else's first game after forever and he probably still had super high confidence from being Dutch Gretz. He's looked not close to as good since imo. If we get rid of Volpatti then we only have Kassian again as an intimidating force and a fighter.. Peaches
how is weise the better all round player? what has weise done at all to be given that title nothing , thats right
etsen3
It's pretty close, Volpatti is tougher but Weise seems to have better hockey skills. Both seems improved over last year (granted Volpatti didn't play much last year). I'll go with Volpatti since I enjoy having his toughness on the 4th line. cIutch
Weise has a bit better of an offensive ability and 2-way play, as well as speed. But, Volpatti has the better fighting ability and physicality.
Trebreh
It doesnt really matter whose better, because once everyone is healthy, they both will be out of the lineup in favour of our 'defensive specialist' AKA Manny Malhotra. But if i had to choose between the two for the last spot on the 4th line, i'd pick Volpatti only because he's more of a deterrent on the ice than Weise. -AJ-
I'm really surprised to see Volpatti so favored over Weise. Weise has that incredible speed and better hands IMO. I mean I would want to see them both in the line-up, but it doesn't look like that will be possible
