Actually, I think it's $198 million, and that got them Parise, 10 point and a minus 1 after 10 games, and Suter, 4 points and a minus 7.
They're at 3rd in the NW and 11th in the west. Money well spent.

Pretty crazy considering the Wild owners are worth 2.5 billion. 200 million is 12% of their company. 12% of their company's value tied up in two guys who aren't even considered superstars yet.

I only caught a few parts of the game and the end, so all I can really pass judgement on is...

-Raymond getting points is always good to see.
-Schroeder's sister is cute, hopefully she's at least 16 so that's not weird.
-Schneider played great

Happy with the score, that's for sure.

Quick Wikipedia search on Jordan Schroeder says yes, she is 16
.

Certainly going to be our #1 defensemen. Give him a couple more years to improve his game and he'll be our new and improved version of Matthias Ohlund in no time

Well what else can I say, the Canucks dominated tonight and look like they've finally shook off the rust. Sedins looked dangerous and got a goal, we got good secondary scoring. No major defensive break downs, Schneider played well.

Good win boys!

PS: Sweet goal by Hansen!

I think Parise was worth the money he got on the open market. Suter... maybe not so much. The guy is a good top pairing D-man, but he obviously isn't the super star they expected without Weber.

Does anyone else find the 'new' pronunciation of Parise's name annoying, btw? I think it sounds way worse than the way they pronounced it before.

Secondary scoring with Kesler and Booth out. That's a good sign.

Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen will have it even easier when those two come back because they'll be able to go up against bottom pairing D. Can't wait to see what our lineup looks like then.

Canucks Army recap

Wow, surprised the Canucks were outchanced in this game, almost by a 2:1 ratio. Crazy. Goes to show how much this team relies on goaltending. I believe the Canucks have been outchaned in 7 of 10 games this season. Gillis is going to have a tough decision if he moves a goaltender.

So, would Minnesota want to have Schneider, after his stellar performance tonight? I mean, their goaltending situation is just dismal and dismal.

We were out-chanced because of changes to the PK and when we hung back on our 4 goal lead. We played a much wider box this game, pushing their players right to the blue line. Even when MIN had 3 guys at the blue line, we'd often have 3 guys with them so they're only passing options were susceptible to interception and to guys with bad angle shots. It gave up the odd chance due to Setoguchi's quick release but stifled a lot of shooting from the point and really forced them to make a play, often not the best one, then we controlled the puck for quite a while. Also Schneids likes not to play the puck too much and will choose to shift so he's square to the shooter, rather than poke even a cross-crease pass. This meant Minnesota racked up chances, but there weren't nearly as many quality ones as the count implies.

actually... no thanks. Backs will be gone after this year, Harding won't be around for much longer which means Hackett will get his shot soon. Yes I understand that Schneider is more proven then a rookie who's still in the AHL, but that's the gamble you have to be willing to take

oh, and 2 goals (at most) could be blamed on Backstrom... those being the first one (that was bad rebound placement on his part) and the breakaway goal. The deflection on the PP, was a perfect deflection... and the other goal was all on Stoner who must have been stoned to play the puck to the slot area while on he belly

Better retake that english class before you start being caustic, lol. I've already acknowledged that Luongo has been great but you know sometimes you have to let your other ELITE goaltender AND official starter start after what, 5 games in a row? It's only fair.

Schneider is not the official starter. U r dum

The Wild are pretty much a more physical version of the Oilers. Excellent top 6, they both have 1 good defenseman and suspect goaltending. Not surprised with the result, even without Booth/Kes.

agree, wouldn't call Cory official starter while Lui is on the team.

doesn't matter who starts, the team is playing better and that is the most important thing.

got tix to the gm tomorrow, and I want to see a W.

There's more to it than just being paid a lot of money or whoever has the most skill. Koivu was given the captaincy for a reason and just going off of Wikipedia here, seemed like Koivu was becoming a natural leader in the locker room starting in 08-09 season. They went back to him as captain for the month 4 out of 11 times. The other 7 times were each different players.

As far as goaltending decisions I think it's basically once you have a game below .930 you're off. It seems like that :P. What a high standard, lol.

And a few good games this season all of a sudden erases the fact that Cory Schneider has signed a contract with this team, quite unambiguously to be the starting goaltender for this team, and the fact that Roberto Luongo has asked to be traded and Mike Gillis is actively trying to trade him.

Classic CDC.

In all seriousness Luongo is playing as well as he always has throughout his career. Schneider is doing the same, save for a blowout in the first game of a shortened season following a lockout, in which almost every player in the league was going in to cold. Is there a significant point that has arisen over the course of these past few weeks that would change Mike Gillis' intentions?

To be as reactionary as most of you are being wouldn't serve any GM in professional sports well.

That's false, Luongo never ask for a trade, he just said he would act like a profesionnel saying he will accept to waive his no trade clause in the best interest of the team. Luongo would be happy to stay with the Canucks.

How do I know that, that's what the former NHL player and Luongo's friend, Enrico Ciccone said.

We have more than we think in common with ''Le Canadien de Montréal''

Both have logo shapped in ''C''

Canadien and Canucks mean the samething

We both hate the Boston Bruins now

Alain Vigneault coached both teams

Rogers Arena, Centre Bell, it's phones company

We are blue white and green they are blue white and red

Our #1 goalie is from Qc, their #1 goalie is from BC

But we have one important thing different and I hope it will change after the next season, we don't have Stanley Cup banner

Apparently it's the correct pronunciation though.

Trade him to Montreal and they will have to change it again to make it sound more French.

Maybe because Parise it's a FRENCH NAME, his dad Jean-Paul Parisé say "Bonjour". So his name should be pronounced Pa-ree-zay, like it used to be.

Great job boys :towel:

Even when Minni was pressing in the 2nd it wasn't too bad as the Canucks mostly kept them to the outside and Schneider stood tall.

Big pat on the back to Weise going against Konopka.
