I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw it at first. But I did end up laughing.

Sing it brotha ! The ignorance of North Americans about the founding of Canada, USA and Mexico is staggering. Our nations were built on blood money, murder an criminal collusion against the native peoples by these governments.

Just like every other nation on the planet. England has been invaded many times over the centuries and so have most countries The indians warred with each other. killing, raping, burning. The Haida used to come down to Victoria area and rape and steal and take some back to be slaves.

Now many immigrants come here to take and take and not give back at least the immigrants that arrived here from Europe worked to build a nation. Where's my reparations from the Normans and Romans for killing my ancestors and stealing their land?

That was funny as hell, but I don't see where he "threw a wrench" into anything.

personally speaking, i see the whole american border issue as none of my business. as such, i am neutral on it.

but on this occasion it appears to be a case of apples and oranges

past historical injustices should not be used as an excuse to break a modern country's laws into the 21st century.

by that logic, all "new world" countries (including ones in south america) should not have a sovereign right over their immigration, and flow of people entering their land. because hundreds of years ago the local natives were treated extremely poorly.

with that being said, i dont want to minimize the injustices the natives of the time faced. but thats a totally different issue.

you will not be making things right with them by leaving your borders open and unguarded.

Along with genocide, mass murder, ridicule, and forced religion?
Im sure you're so educated on the situation.

I wished i lived off the wealth of group of people without paying them a dime. Oh hell, plow their graves for trains, and progress. At the same time, ignore their rights while I cash in on their resources.

PS: our education is not free, we pay what we owe. Im still paying off my debts from when i got a degree in linguistics. Its called a repayment plan. And these "paychecks" you are referring to? Pease elaborate.

Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Canadian Indians who can demonstrate that they have “50% or more Indian blood,” by presentation of their band registration card, are entitled to permanent resident status in the United States. As a result, Canadian Indians who arrive at U.S. ports of entry and state that they intend to work in the United States are instructed by United States Customs and Border Protection officials to apply for permanent resident status on the spot. The applicants are immediately issued temporary residency cards and are entitled to work in the United States without work permits.

Under Canadian immigration law, however, North American Indians are only accorded the right to enter Canada if they are registered on the Canadian Band Lists. An American Indian can only obtain registered band status if they can establish that their mother or father was a member of a Canadian band. Therefore, American Indians coming to Canada to work or study require work or study permits as with any other foreign national.

Virtually all members of the Indian nations whose traditional lands straddle the border are entitled to be registered under the Indian Act, and once they have exercised this option, they may enter Canada by right under ss 19(1) of the IRPA.

the problem with this logic (we were here first) is that someone was always here before someone else.

Why did they all end up running away????

They ran away because it was Arizona, which happens to have the 2 largest reserves in the US. Also over a quarter of the state is reserve.
The people that run these rally's also push those bills that make it so anyone brown needs papers and is subject to extreme racial profiling.

*snort* oh... ok. You must not be familiar with the over fishing that happens in some of Minnesota lakes due to how the natives "respect mother earth."

What you call racial profiling has to do with the fact that illegal immigration is has been a big problem and those people, by in large, tend to come from Mexico, not Canada.

As it stands it's too difficult getting ICE information off someone about their immigrant status, because whenever an officer rightfully wants to know if someone is an overstay (i.e. illegal) or undocumented (i.e. illegal), he has to jump through so many hoops it isn't worth it thanks to asinine protesters protecting people who don't follow the law, even making it tougher for getting law/ordinances passed giving local Sheriffs/officers/state troopers instant ICE access.

Instant access to all your ID, just what the gov't needs.
Why bother recognizing the American Indian, if only to shame the Mexican. Where did the Mexican come from? Did they not travel to and fro before there was a border there? Are they not just as brown ( or browner :P) than the American Indian? This is another reason why the protesters ran away.

If they need to arrest you, whether or not you are legally in the country, in the common sense world, should be checked as well, especially given the millions of overstays/illegal entries. But since there's so many different jurisdictions involved in arresting someone, then checking their status, and so forth, logically one streamlines the process of information. That requires a law of some sort, and every time one passes, whether it be through state legislature, or local ordinance, a bunch of morons flock to protect illegal presence in a country and the first thing they cry about is "racism".

I'm brown, spent a lot of time in Arizona, and would move there if I could, and have never encountered racial profiling there. Of course I don't look like an illegal nor do I have "Gangster" tattooed across my face so that helps.

I have however experienced all sorts of issues in Vancouver however, whether its regularily getting stopped and asked for ID on the street, or getting constantly followed around in stores etc, its pretty blantant.

I believe the problem is that the Deliverance hillbillies around here in most cases mistake me for Native, not just me but my Brazilian girlfriend's family and my Italian-Mexican's friends family as well.

Anybody who says Natives have it easy or that the perks they have are worth the discrimination.
