Not injured, took the morning skate, Flyers have not provided a reason why he is scratched.

Interesting.

They said he has the flu

John Boruk@JohnBorukCSN

Flyers center Sean Couturier is out with the flu #FlyersTalk

Sam Carchidi@BroadStBull

Sounds like Couturier (flu) will be sent home and will not go to Winnipeg for Tues. game. #Flyers

TORONTO -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier was unexpectedly not in the lineup for Monday night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. After taking the morning skate early Monday, the 20-year-old forward was not on the ice for the pre-game skate.

The Flyers have yet to comment as to why Couturier was scratched. He was expected to play center between Matt Read and Mike Knuble.

Couturier has not missed any of the Flyers' 12 games this season. He has two goals and three assists over that span.

He's out with the Flu, besides it makes absolutely no sense to Trade for Coutirier... We haven't even fit in 10 million worth of cap space in Kesler and Booth... let a lone a sophmore player.

Wait, what? Are you saying acquiring Couturier would present cap issues? Not so. Players on ELCs are the most cap friendly assets there are.

I think that poster is under the illusion that Kesler and Booth are on LTIR and not counting towards the cap which isn't the case... We only need to send a couple bodies down to the minors to make room for Kes and Booth.

Would we really want to trade a serial playoff contender, one of our goalies? (even for SC) That would be like handing them a SC Final chance, every year, for the next 5 years.

Yes, because to get a decent player, you have to give up a decent player in return.

I'd love to see the reaction on Boston's faces if Philly landed one of our goaltenders - same in New York.
See you in the Finals Philly. Luo could burn us and Couturier could burn them - high drama.
(No need to tell me that Couturier isn't available Smashian, or the rest of the attending reality you gleened on hfboards - heard it a hundred times already - I'm not assuming that Couturier doesn't have the flu or is slated to be moved, but he's also not an unreasonable return for Luongo, at all).

Not sure why Philly would put him on the table when he's pretty much the geir apparent of Mike Richards.

But. It's Philly.

We need to stop starting new threads on players who "missed practice" or a was scratched for unknown reason. Hell Darcy Hordichuk was healthy scartched for a while, do we start a thread on him?

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

http://bleacherrepor...d-top-prospects

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Smyth's retirement-ready and has lost two more steps.

Whitney has a Forsbergian foot injury that may halt his career.

Both take a seat for good reason.
