Malhotra out for personal reasons?

Nope. Hopefully it's nothing too bad happening within his family or something like that.

Noticed Kuemper's in net for Minny. I've heard good things about him...hopefully they light him up >: )

The guy just had a kid, leave him alone. Why does it matter anyways?

Sometimes "personal" isn't personal... Calm down, its not like we are knocking on the guy's door

Wish him the best, whatever is going on.

Not ours to question why.

I checked a couple days ago, and Malhotra was 2nd in the entire league for Faceoff wins. The first place went to a Blackhawks guy.

hope its not mental illness... he could get severely depressed based on where he was to where he is now... yikes!

He needs to get existential and relaxed about his career, he has made more money than a lot of people ever will...

wish him all the best!!!

This board continues to amaze. I am not sure if it is the weather and we are all cooped up, but the drama we look for is unbelievable. It's personal, who cares, as long as things are okay and he comes back soon.

Why even speculate? Remember all the douche bags that commented on Rypien?

From the link you provided:

According to assistant coach Rick Bowness, who met the media Tuesday morning, there will be no further elaboration on Malhotra's absence.

“No, can't,” Bowness said. “Will not elaborate. Personal matter.”

Asked if there was a sense when Malhotra might return, Bowness relied: “No.”
