About time

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

Not surprised, JD's team now and he'll pick a competent GM.

If I was Howson there is no way I would have traded Nash to NYR. I would have held on to him until he expanded his trade list and gotten a much better return. There is no way I would have made the Carter trade either.

Could you imaging if Burke took the job and tried to convince Luongo to go there.

No freakin way JD hires a self absorbed clown like BB. After the Kessel trade only an idiot would hire BB to manage their team.

I think this is as much about timing as anything.

Columbus is ready to take step forward, IMHO.

Right on.

I've always liked Davidson and wished we could have had him as a goalie and now as management.

He did a great job in St. Louis and it looks like he will turn Columbus around now too.

Managing that team will be a very interesting challenge; wonder who is going to get the job?

Insider Trading on TSN suggests Hextall as a possibility but probably a more likely option previously close to Davidson in St. Louis might be Jarmo Kekalainen.

Assistant General Manager & Director of Amateur Scouting

Jarmo Kekalainen oversees the Blues’ participation in the National Hockey League Entry Draft, and assists President John Davidson and Senior Vice President and General Manager Larry Pleau with all facets of hockey operations. He is also involved with the Blues’ professional scouting efforts. Kekalainen, 43, originally joined the Blues in September of 2002.

Thanks for that link; I remember him now.

Certainly looks like he has the draft figured out.

Wow, not sure why they waited, but interesting.

Maybe Burke will go there, who knows. Although he, Davidson and that Finnish guy seem to be the candidates.

Atleast that's what I have got from reading this forum. :P

I cant believe they let Howson do the Nash deal if they planned on canning him this soon. Doesn't really make sense. They should have let him go last year and let the new GM aquire assets that he would want.

Should of done it before Nash, however they probably didn't think about it until a GM they wanted became available. Burke is now available. Makes sense
