With Luongo playing so well right now and playing so relaxed it certainly does open up the option of the Canucks trading Schneider. I think the AV'S would be more interested in Schneider. Cory schneider for giguere and o'reilly?

I have not gone through the whole thread; I'm sure the issue that Manny not playing anymore this year makes a big centre like this all that much more valuable?

I have a feeling that Gillis et co are looking into O'Reilly, Laich & Dubinsky but if they can't pry any of those 3 away for a reasonable price they'll turn their focus to 4th line faceoff/PK specialists.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Brouwer instead on Schroeders left wing for Raymond and something would be even better.

But it also has nothing to do with a center.

Ballard + Schroeder (or whichever prospect) won't get us O'Reilly. He is being very undervalued.

They would ask for Kassian or Kassian+ Probably. And I wouldn't do Kassian 1 for 1.

Sure this guy brings things to the table, but how about the character?

This guy is purposely squeezing the Avs by the balls (crap standings leave them at a disadvantage here) just to get a couple more million on his next contract perhaps.

D'bag, sign what you're ACTUALLY worth, and don't over-price yourself based on one season.

Base on O RLY's character, I won't touch him with a 100 foot pole. Another selfish locker room cancer.

Niederreitter and a 1st?

I was actually just thinking about a Niederreiter package for O'Reilly. Maybe Niederreiter and Nielsen?

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Itll take Booth + Jensen + 2nd... Itd help them win this year, but too much when you look at the bigger picture. PLus O'Reilly likley wouldnt be plaesed playing as the 3rd center... Hodgson all over again.

Go for O'Reilly light... Brandon Dubinsky.... L Handed C, good on draws, hits, kills penalties, can skate, 40 + point player.

Boom squad.

Dubinsky has a 4.2M cap hit, which I don't think could be entertained given our impending cap crunch.

I know this is unlikely but what would you guys think of a Luongo, Raymond + 3'rd for O'reilly & Varlamov trade.

Teams like BUF & TOR are pushing hard for O'Reilly, but the price is high, as many have stated. Top-6 F, top prospect as part of package

Did you see Ryan Miller's post-game interview on Sunday?

"...I mean, really, it's a 3-2 lead in the 3rd, can't we just make them bring it (the puck) all the way back (200 feet)? Is that too much to ask? It's just really frustrating... ...sigh..." etc, etc.

First thing that came to mind when I saw the interview was that maybe he wants out. I could see Miller to the Av's for O'Reilly plus or minus some spare parts happening.

I think the Av's should send him off to Long Island, teach him and their young guys not to eff with the organization. Snow has to get rid of Neiderreiter anyway, a 1 for 1 deal would be fair.

According to @RenLavoieRDS the Flyers, Rangers and Leafs are among those interested in Ryan O'Reilly. Lavoie says Avs asked for Couturier.

Avs said they wanted a forward and a prospect. Did they just ask for Couterier?

I think you people and the avs are WAY over valuing O'Reilly. I mean look at his numbers. He's never scored 20 goals in a season, EVER. He isn't that big at 6'0" 205lbs.

I have no idea why 55pts 18 goals is worth a top 6 forward and a prospect. People on here would have laughed their asses off if anyone had suggested that Raymond was worth that much but his best year of 53pts 25 goals is comparable to O'Reilly's best year.
Add to the above that this kid is holding out for more money than his far more talented team mate, duchene got and I would say buyer beware. People are going to pay a kings ransome for a third line center.

Or then of course there's always the Ferry

Also,
I'm putting together a list of the criteria to be a "real" Canuck's fan. So far I have this:

1. I cheer for the Canucks, whatever happens.
2. I never say anything bad about the Canucks.
3. I know the difference between "real" fans and posers just by how they post on the CDC or where they sit at GM Place.
4. I wouldn't dream of leaving a game before it ended, even if it meant missing a train, ferry or a threesome with the wife and her hot best friend?
5. I make 10+ posts a day and I have over 10,000 posts on the CDC, so my Canuck "street-cred" is huge. Go away noob!
6. No one F's with me. I train in MMA. I'm really tough. I'll curb stomp yo' donkey.
7. I make a tonne of $$$$.
8. I'm witty.
9. If it meant missing a game, I wouldn't study for a midterm.
10. I roll with a guy who has a wicked car.
11. I like to post "source?" a lot.

Think about context a little?

When Raymond had 53 points he was SIXTH on his team in scoring plus Grabner and Demitra playing fewer games but not being far off in pace. The team had 268 goals. There was zero pressure on Raymond as a 3rd line winger who stepped up to play 2nd line..

On the flipside, O'Reilly LED his team in points. Was the 1st line center. Showed he had AWESOME capabilities as a defensive forward. Three years younger than Raymond was. And the Avs collected a whole 199 goals last year...
