Opmac
Volpatti is 6.0- 215lbs. 3 goals and -3 in 50 NHL games. Kassianis 6-5 -240lbs. 2 goals and -3 in 28 NHL games. Dont get me wrong, I like Volpatti, he just dosent scare anyone with bad intentions towards Henrick and Daniel IMHO. So ya I guess Im serious. Wishful thinking though as MG does not see the value of a bonified tough guy. I hope our skill guys can survive the abuse that is continually given to them. Remember the elbow on Daniel last year and the lack of response. The team was basically done after that IMHO. For 2 or 3 minutes a game I would rather have the big guy. suolucidir
On nights that Alain Vigneault plays 4 minutes like last game against Minnesota, I wonder if that spot is better used for a talentless goon like Matt Kassian. Seems like it would be more beneficial if you're going to play a supposedly better hockey player four minutes a night. The common argument is it is a waste of a spot in the lineup to carry an enforcer since they play four minutes a night and hinders the team's ability to roll four lines. Don't disagree with that, but it allows you to double shift players if they are having a strong game. Say Jordan Schroeder on Saturday or Jannik Hansen on Tuesday. Makes it a tad more difficult for other teams to match lines as well.

riffraff
You haven't watched many of his fights then.
Rypien37
Not many but a few. Example vs a smaller Sean Thornton who tied him up, outlasted then took over....the only guys I saw kassian convincingly beat was hordi and guillame desbiens....big whoop.. If we're gonna have a goon.....better have the baddest available.
riffraff
Thornton is one of the best fighters in the league, as much as I hate to say it. Also Kass was owning him for the 1st half of that fight. Do some more research.
Rypien37
I guess we have different definitions of owning a fight....but it's all good....I agree with your sentiment.
Trebreh
I really really wanted MG to claim Frazer McLaren.... He has really improved his fighting ability and could knock off Orr off the Leafs the way he's destroying people.
Peaches
Known this since yesterday. And for those who fall for these types of stupid threads, Zach Kassian is not waiver eligible.
