Higgins, Kesler, and Kassian were practising as a line this morning

In my opinion, i think that this line will dominate. They have speed, and power to make plays happen. This line will be a hard matchup for other teams!

Your thoughts on how this line would preform? Would you make any changes to this line?

Question is: what happens to that line when Booth returns?

Sounds like a super line to me actually :D Still want kass to be with the twins, but this line could be rolled out for the second PP unit maybe ?

With Mannimal out looks like JS is here to stay, he deserves the spot and will make this team that much better. I was really hard on JS until he showed me my worries were unwarranted. This kid has the goods an we will be seeing him carry the groceries home on a few more nights this year :D

GO NUCKS !

Lookin like a sexy line

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Theoretically it should be a beast line. All three can play a gritty game, and Kassian has enough defensive awareness to be put on a shutdown line like this (although of course it'll be an offensive line but still can be used as one). Offensively it should work. Higgins has the speed and tenacity to get the puck after a dump in (much like Burrows with the Sedins), and with him and Kassian always looking for passing options it should allow Kesler to score a whole bunch of goals. This is all in theory though... I can't wait to see this line in action.

What's funny is Kassian is probably the 'set up' guy for this line.

This line will be money, but I think it'll take a few games to get going. Kass has been used as the guy parked in front of the net with the twins, while Higgins has been invisible for stretches of this early season. Kesler has to get his game speed up, but I think 3-4 games from now this line will be dominant, and we will see the emergence of Kassian as a passer on this line.

Agree Ossi .. Kass has a great touch in the offensive zone in finding the open player .. with Kesler driving the net, it should open up shooting lanes for the D-men moving down into the slot .. Garrison and Edler could benefit greatly .. very optimistic .. and our speedy 3rd line will be more than any other 3rd line can contain legally ..

On paper this looks like a tough line to play against. Great puck retrieval, good size, great speed, and good work ethic across the line.

Kass will probably end up being the passer on this line, but I would be even more enthused about this if Kesler can remember the year he had 50 assists and 25 goals for 75 points and was a great passer.

Love the line - will be bloody hard to handle, and to score against imo - and also think this is fair game/subject matter for a thread of it's own.
I think Kesler might benefit from an intelligent two way linemate like Higgins, and also from having a pair of wingers who have very good vision, strength on the boards, and pass the puck very well - Kesler could net a few playing with these two.

Is this going to be the third or second line?

If it's the third line I like it, I don't like Higgins on any scoring line. It always fizzles out.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Raymond Schroeder Hansen
Higgins Kesler Kassian - at least Kass can pass
Volpatti Lapierre Wiese

Well this would work well too

Daniel / Henrik / Burrows
Higgins / Kesler / Kassian
Raymond / Schroeder / Booth
Weiss/Volp Lappy Hansen

Good balance in all 4

However, I do think it makes more sense to put Kassian with the Twins for the season. He will be on that line in the playoffs to police and create room so may as well create the chemistry now.

Playoff lines

Daniel/Hank/Kassian
Hiiggins/Kesler/Burrows
Raymond / Schroeder / Booth
Weiss/Volp Lappy Hansen

I'm interested in this
If it works, that's an insane amount of depth and secondary scoring

I like this more:

D.Sedin - H.Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Kassian *
Raymond - Schroeder - Higgins *
Weise - Lapierre - Hansen *
Volpatti, Ebbett

* Those 3 players can be swapped around.

Those are 4 solid lines that can play 10+ minutes each.

I don't like having Hansen on the 4th line but I don't like to have Higgins on the 4th line either but if those lines play 10 + minutes each every night it works.

It has all the potential to be a great line that is capable of dominating games! As with everything it does remain to be seen... though I hope that they click right out of the starting gates.

I'd rather see this when Booth gets back soon:

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian (Kassian>Burrows by a long shot, he actually stands up for the twins and has better hands)
Burrows - Kesler - Booth (Burr-Kes have proven chemistry, and his good defensive play lets Kes-Booth freewheel offensively)
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen (all great chemistry, speedy line)
Higgins - Lapierre - Weise/Volpatti (ex-Habs have proven chemistry too, all good forecheckers and hitters)
