allkill326
No... Then Bure, Shirokov, Chubarov all are then to. Btw Malhotra is of East Indian descent
logic
Well, didn't Bure grow up in Moscow? I mean, Moscow's pretty much the European part of Russia, not the Asian.
Dazzle
Russians aren't really considered Asians. If you're wondering, Robin Bawa and Manny Malhotra are also Asian players who played for the Canucks. Sorry to hijack the thread.
allkill326
So if someone who grows up in the Southern part of a province are they considered "American" because that's where the area is?
allkill326
That's very debatable. Historically, Russia has been known to flip-flop between calling itself Asian and calling itself European. I'd say it's both.
logic
You do realize that Russia's continental status is divided into two with the Ural Mountains acting as a border between the two?
Dazzle
Anyhow, as much as I like Setoguchi and how good he could be for our team, I have a feeling that we can't fit him on our lines where we could allow him to succeed. I am going to take a very unconventional approach and say that our roster is fine as it is. Really - besides needlessly tinkering with the third or fourth line, could it really give us more of an edge than what we have now? MAYBE we could do with a centre who can win draws though... LH preferably.
allkill326
Alright I agree with that, but you're saying that Fedor Fedorov, who was born in Moscow could be considered Asian? Also, you don't need to use the facepalm emoticon to prove someone wrong
logic
Nope. It was Pavel Bure, whom I mentioned. Also, I'm not even trying to prove you wrong. This is nothing. Seriously, I hope you and I do not escalate this situation into arguments. Let's get along.

86Viking
I don't think he would be a good fit in our roster plus Wild is a division rival..... is he any better than Raymond?
86Viking
problem is they wont trade him to us unless we give them a better offer than any other team. He could be perfect for pittsburgh

Spoosh
Why do we move a player that really hasn't been able to prove his worth yet? Not saying people are going all NHL13 on this proposal, but with salary cap and all, you just don't make trades for the fun of it and not see the deal through. David Booth has been here for just over 50 games last year and thats it. Why move him for a guy that has had declining stats for the past 6 years (this one counting), both in goals and points? Seto has some upside and potential in his pocket, but why not look at Booth first. We gave up a good player for him in Samuelsson (and dumped Sturm, thank God). He's a 30-goal man too and here already, gotten used to the way we work, getting ready to make an impact when he gets healthy and his legs back after the injury. That's why it's a no...
