"blindsides" as you call it are just an extension of fighting...just cheaper. I'd rather watch say a player like Iggy score goals then be injured for a month cause he broke his hand fighting.... Look what happened in the Sens/Penguins game the other night - that wasn't fighting - that was Neal try to kill Cooke. That wasn't "men" settling it - it was "I can't control my emotions like a child throwing a temper tantrum"... Sorry...policing needs to be left to the police...we've had fighting in this sport since basically it began and we still have cheap shots - so I ask you again - how has fighting prevented unwarranted injuries?
