I try to plan my social life on days when the games aren't on but it doesnt always work out and it's always a tough decision for me whether to watch the game or go hang out with a friend. I always feel really bad when I decide to watch the game, but I have a better time if I watch the game. Anyone else been put in this situation?

Beer is my only friend when it's hockey time.

The biggest dilemma, is choosing between watching the game, or playing hockey with your friends.

Why don't you watch the game WITH your friends.

If none of your friends like to watch hockey its pbbly a good idea to make a few new friends who like to play and watch sports.

I'd miss the game to hang out with my friends in a heartbeat. Most of my friends aren't hockey fans, they wouldn't watch the game with me and there's nothing wrong with that.

Seriously guys, you can afford to miss a few games over the season to hang out with friends instead. Ditching friends to stay home is pretty brutal.

I plan everything around Canucks games. If my friends arent over for dinner and beers and the game, then there is something wrong.

The only time we miss is when we are at hockey. But we always catch the last 10 mins of the 3rd at the pub usually.

Its such a routine between me and my friends, Im almost positive the wife is gonna leave me 1 of these days because it happens so much.

I sure am gonna miss her.

I plan my entire life around the schedule - no lie. I don't attend things if they're on game days...everyone who knows me knows that. And either has the game accesible to me or schedules accordingly.

It's a little ridiculous, but just how it is. I have no trouble declining offers if it's a game night...and I'm quite up front about that in a "no, I'll be watching the game".

I have taken a little hand held TV to a wedding for a HNIC game in the past. Also, to the racetrack for a birthday (and had people asking me for updates in our seating area). I am currently seeking a 12 step program for this, but no success so far.

Honestly, it's been like this for awhile...even my boss knows that I'm bolting if a game is on. Just how it is.

when it comes to going out or kicking back and watching the game, I usually watch the game, then link up with my friends later.
the only time I skip a game is when the friend is a lady :bigblush:

You brought a hand-held TV to a wedding.

Sweet.

That's pretty sad for people that value Canucks more than friends.
I would say you need a life but that's not it.

I think its more of an addiction problem lol.

Ever heard of PVR? Highlights?

I mean anything that's noteworthy will be in the highlights, and you could watch the game on your own terms later on if you were really so keen. The action's not going to change (faceoff, pass, chase, dump-in, work around, hit, cycle, shot, covered by goalie/ glove save, scrum, pad save, players change, cheering fans after a goal by their team... you know the gist)

Some memories you can't really miss (Deb, really? At a wedding? I wanna facepalm but I don't want warnings :P)

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus LOVES YOU!
2012, meet Matthew 24:36-47!

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Yeah. I feel bad cause my friends usually don't care about hockey so I wanna hang out but wanna watch the game as well. If I watch the game I miss out on times with my friends. If I skip the game, I miss what could happen ( which I did when the Canucks smoked Ana. 5-0 this season, man I was pissed about that).
