You guys voted, and so here it is! The Top 30 Canadian Players of All-Time! I decided to go to only 30 for this set because we have several countries to get through.

Also, I want to ask you guys, should this list be done by country of birth or by the team that the player played for? (Example, Brett Hull, Stan Mikita)

Looking forward to seeing how this list turns out!

Please remember to nominate someone to be added to the voting list!

Voting Gretzky. I don't think I need a long post explaining why.

I'm gonna nominate Jean Beliveau, one of the classic Canadian Captains and one of the best Canadiens players of all-time, even into his twilight years.

The perfect player. He could do it all. Completely dominated games. Could do whatever he wanted when he was skating with the puck.

It's hard to argue with nearly 3000 point in under 1500 games.

Although it's hard to choose just one when Lemieux, Orr, Yzermen and Sakic are in the running...

Nominating Phil Esposito.

I can't believe he's not on the list! When he scored 76 goals everybody thought it was an unbeatable record.

Not having Bobby Hull on that list shows that you know nothing of the history of the NHL.

That's why there's a nomination ballot. No need to insult someone's hockey knowledge when there is only so many names a guy can fit before having to cut himself off.

The names on the list are completely objective. I simply took the top 12 Canadians from the Top 50 Players of All-Time list.

Gretzky is the best Canadian player ever. There is no need to debate it.

Orr is, by far, the best Canadian defenceman ever.

I nominate Bobby Clarke, Cyclone Taylor, Joe Malone, Howie Morenz and Larry Murphy. And Terry Sawchuk and Jaques Plante, too.

You do know that being hyped means to exaggerate his talent? He didn't blow away nearly every scoring recored because he was "hyped"...

While it's impossible to say any one player is the greatest people can choose who their greatest player is. Each one of these guys had their own strengths and weaknesses and (most) played in different eras of the NHL. Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Esposito, all these guys are legendary players and there's no need to attempt to devalue one player to praise another.

Bobby Clarke is my second favorite player of all-time behind that other #16 guy.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but I'm curious.... what would you consider Orr's weakness to be?

For the life of me, I can't think of one...
