Squeak
Make it shorter, and cut out the break between 3rd period and OT. No break at all. Just keep playing until the next whistle and then make it 4 on 4. I think the breaks are too long to begin with. 15 min should be maximum. 10 minutes would be ideal. RUPERTKBD
By all means... Six solid hours of hockey coverage every Saturday isn't nearly enough. Besides, I simply can't get enough of Kevin Weeks' scintillating insight....
WiDeN
How does keeping the play going make sense at all.
allkill326
People have other commitments, so I suggest the intermission length be set at default(17 minutes).
Ghostsof1915
Just what we need. More political commercials slamming the opposition leader, and propaganda from the provincial government saying what a wonderful job they are doing. More Kevin Weekes. More Iain MacIntyre, Hurl. MikeyBoy44
The points about the ice surface make sense actually. The puck has been no different than a tennis ball in games all over the NHL lately.
surtur
wow i always assumed it was 20min... but never paid attention. but have never been to a NHL game.. only WHL and i am pretty sure they are 20 min? oh well.learn something new every day. Mad_Duck
...due to long lines and a packed concourse, to both relieve yourself and purchase snacks during a single break....
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
It was better when it was 20 I remember it like that back in the Pacific Coliseum days, more time to buy food and drinks go to the washroom, and even take a look in the gift shop! Hugemanskost
Sure. Why not? It's only six minutes. More revenue for clubs generated through TV ads and arena ads. More revenue through concessions and Canuck's Store. It's a no brainer, if you ask me.
-DLC-
Honestly, I go to the game to watch the game and by the 3rd period. the staggering drunks get to be a little annoying (last game there was a woman who was trying to push through the line up back to our seats, not understanding that you had to wait for a whistle...she had two glasses of wine and, clearly, they were #19 & #20. Major spillage and she was tuned out). Giving the drunks more time to refuel doesn't really appeal to me. And if security is worried about trouble makers, giving them more line up/beer buying time doesn't support that. I love fun and do enjoy a beer or two, but I feel that giving more time for line ups is catering to those who don't come prepared to watch the game or that isn't their first priority. I'm in my seats, waiting, so the extra time is just longer for me to have to do so. Not meaning to sound like a snob but I'd rather have the game the focus, not the concession stands. Hobble
Yeah, because during intermissions, I find myself asking why we can't see more Tim Hortons commercials.

Down by the River
Three minutes is a lifetime when you have the channel on Sportsnet. I don't want Doug MacLean yelling through my TV set one second longer.
