NuxFan09
The Wolves continue their homestand today against another conference opponent. This time they're up against the Lake Erie Monsters (Colorado Avalanche farm team), who are currently 8th in the conference and 3 points up on the Wolves. If Coach Arniel's past tendencies are any indication, look for Matt Climie to start in net again, despite the fact he's been rather ordinary since his return from injury. Starting in net for the Monsters will be AHL newcomer Kent Patterson, a 2007 Avalanche draft pick who just graduated from the NCAA to the pros this season and has been playing in the Central Hockey League due to the Avs' minor league logjam in goal. Patterson doesn't have a win yet in his young AHL career but has apparently been playing well, posting a 0-1-1 record with a 1.94 GAA and .925 Save%. Lineup and starting goalie at puck drop. GO WOLVES!

NuxFan09
The Wolves are having a ceremony to honor former GM and current Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, which is why the game hasn't started yet. Long speech by Cheveldayoff, that's for sure, but he deserves it. He's one of the best, if not the best, GM's in the history of the AHL.
NuxFan09
Peter Andersson is back in the Wolves lineup after being out last game. He's back on the 1st pairing with Joslin.
NuxFan09
Climie with a couple point blank saves early in this game. Looks sharp so far. The Wolves need to wake up here. To add, I guess we know why Climie is starting again. He has a 4-0-0 record, a 1.25 GAA and .947 Save% as a Wolf against the Monsters.
NuxFan09
Gordon hits the crossbar after Sweatt worked hard on the forecheck to get him the puck. The Wolves are looking a bit better.
NuxFan09
DiDiomete goes to the box for slashing. Monsters to the PP.
NuxFan09
Longpre gets stopped by Patterson on a shorthanded breakaway! Patterson just got a shoulder on hit after Longpre made a nifty move to the backhand and tried to roof it.
NuxFan09
The Wolves killed the DiDiomete penalty but will go right back to the PK after Haydar's bad hit from behind in the offensive zone resulted in a boarding call.
NuxFan09
Wow, the Monsters now have a 4 minute PP after Haydar argued about the original call and received an additional 2 minutes.
NuxFan09
The first 2 minutes are almost over and the Monsters still don't have a shot on the PP. Great penalty killing by the Wolves!
NuxFan09
Davies scores from a sharp angle! The Wolves successfully killed off the 4 minute penalty and then established a good cycle in the offensive zone, resulting in the first goal of the game. 1-0 Wolves. NuxFan09
Scores! Brad Hunt's shot from the point was re-directed in front of the net. It might be Sweatt's goal, Gordon's goal, or maybe even Hunt's. Either way, 2-0 Wolves.
NuxFan09
Wolves putting on some serious pressure here! They haven't even give the Monsters goalie a chance to breathe after scoring on the PP. Great to see this team look so dynamic offensively.
