Sedins = A. They've got their game back, just needed to get warmed up.

Burrows = A. Hasn't dropped a beat since last season but isn't going to score at a 35 goal pace again.

Kesler = A+. Best forward in our last 2 games, been shooting as well as he did two seasons ago and flying everywhere.

Raymond = A+. Simply our most consistent forward all season long.

Hansen = A. Raised his game slightly.

Higgins = A. Hasn't lost a step and is scoring at a 20-goal pace once again, plus great work on the PK.

Kassian = B+. Was our best forward in the first eighth of the season but inconsistencies are hurting his production and ice time.

Lapierre = C+. Good defensively, good on the PK but is bringing next to no offence or even offensive cycles and zone-time.

Weise = C+. After a great first two games of the season he's become invisible again.

Schroeder = A. Filling the 3rd line center role nicely and surprising everyone with great offensive zone time.

----

Edler = B-. Don't care if he's up in points, he's been brutal defensively and AV has to get him back to the left side.

Hamhuis = B+. Good defensively despite a poor +/-, and has a tonne of points.

Bieksa = B+. Had a little offensive streak, is playing better defensively and much more physically this season.

Garrison = D. Next to no offence and the worst Canuck in his own zone. Terrible fumbles and passes.

Ballard = A+. IMO our smoothest defenceman, had some huge hits, great passes and is never getting stuck in his own zone. Just lacking offensive production but I don't expect much when he gets 16 minutes a game and no PP time.

Tanev = A. Would be an A+ but he had a brutal game tonight against the Blues defensively.

---

Luongo = A+. Top-3 goalie in the league right now despite all he's been through. Quite simply this team's MVP so far, without him the Canucks would probably be struggling around .500 (Schneider's record).

Schneider = C+. Had a few good games but they were mostly because of how well our team played. He lost us the first game of the season, the game against the Sharks and the last game with a bunch of bad goals. Very disappointed in this guy considering he was waiting for his big chance to play as a starter, now he gets it and can't seal the deal.

Quarter way into the season: The Canucks are preparing the team for a playoff run. Lots of work to be done. Iron out problem areas, make adjustments, build chemistry. Win enough games to be in the top 8 at end of season. Play their best hockey in the playoffs...

Honestly, I feel like we've been lucky to win as we have on the strength of our goaltending. Our wins don't feel hard-earned (NW division), and our play against playoff-bound teams seems to depended on one line getting hot and our goalies shutting it down.

Last night against St. Louis was one of the few games in which the Canucks put forth a sustained effort. Luongo did not play brilliantly, and the team worked hard for most of the third to make up for that and get it to overtime. In addition, the powerplay looked much better with Kesler back.

If we play like we did for the latter half of the third, and our goalies get back to their excellent selves, I feel good.
