To Van:
2nd round pick 2013

To Det:
Ballard

To Van:
Jenner, LAK 1st round pick, Dalton smith

To Clbs:
Schnieder, 5th round pick

Mason raymond will more than likely want more money than mg is willing to spend so he will walk.

Higgins really doesn't have a spot on this team hansen fits much better and we need to start getting younger.

Weise and Volpattie are decent fourth liners but we really need a bigger 4th line.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Booth Kesler Kassian
Jensen Schroeder Hansen
Smith Jenner Lappy

Hamuis Bieksa
Edler Garisson
Tanev Corrado

I don't like it
We can definitely get something more for Schneider, especially something more immediate.

Ballard has been (believe it or not) one of our top d-men this year. So the Detroit trade is just silly. The Columbus trade is good in principle, but I doubt CBJ does it. They've kind of put all their cards in Bobrovsky.

Too little in return for Schneider and we would also want a goalie in return.

We would wat a 2nd and a 3rd/4th for Ballard. Ballard's not a bad D, actually.

the problem with ballard is his cap hit/ salary he is on ok D man that is overpaid i agree he is playing well right now but i think he will be the odd D out next year... Corrado will only get better and he sureimpressed people last year won't be long till he is a canuck. I just can't see a team giving more than a second for ballard

I agree, but we do need a replacement for him, and I do not have complete faith in either Barker or Vandermeer.

our top 6 is pretty much set and our third line would be a fast young line that can catch people off gaurd. One of our main problems is our fourth line this would upgrade our fourth line plus give us a first round draft pick (which i believe no matter what in any goalie trade he will want a 1st included) and gives us jenner who can gel with Jensen really well

True but the fourth line shouldn't be something we have to upgrade by sacrificing Schneider.
We can always throw in some plugs or goons, it's not a huge issue.
We should be more focused on our top 9.

I feel that we could fetch a young talented prospect in exchange for Schneider.
That's what we lack on the third line considering Guance won't be ready for a couple more years.

Edit: That being said, I don't feel Schneider will be traded at all... At least not now anyway.

sauve could probably fill in i mean we really didn't give him much of a chance and he still looked pretty solid with his little stint with the canucks

How have they put all their cards in Bobrovsky? They traded a couple picks for him and he's battling for the starting spot with Mason.

Schneider would be a good bait to move Bobrovsky. However, of course, we need more than just that Bob.

But you can't just stick Corrado with Tanev together on the bottom paring to protect them since they're both right handed defencemen. You have to consider how all the pairings would work together, and I think they'd like one of Corrado or Tanev to eventually step into the top 4. You can't just stick one of them on the right side of Edler either, as he usually plays against the toughest competition of any of our defencemen.

As others have said as well, we'd likely have to get more back for Schneider to pull the trigger on a deal involving him instead of Luongo. Jenner's good, but we have a fair amount of centers coming up with Schroeder, Gaunce, LaBate and Mallet. Savard would probably be nicer along with our choice of their firsts and maybe Mason, but then we still have to figure out how everyone fits.

Tanev is going to EDM. I can put my life savings down on it

If L.A sucks than Columbus will draft Drouin and Mackinnon. So the trade doesnt work.

I think they'll try and get Jones, given their lackluster goaltending.

Nay, they would pick those two and put them with Johansen.

Niether are ready.

As for the deal, no thanks to the CBJ one. And we have to let things play out before we make a decision on Ballard IMO.

Schneider shouldn't be traded unless the deal is remarkably good, which this isn't. Luongo should still be traded, especially if it is at the draft IMO.

If Hamhuis and Edler don't pick up their game we are going to need Ballard for the next season...

I think we can get more for Schneider. Take out Smith or Jenner and insert Ryan Johansen
