lucky to get a point with that many breakaways and odd-men rushes given up... two breakaways in our first PP was just awful...

having that said, the sharp goal shouldn't be a goal because the hawks had too many men on the ice and the extra player was interfering with how the canucks were moving up the ice, leading to the turn over...

I have nothing good to say about the defensive effort yet again. Absolutely horrible. Even if they had somehow managed to eek out a win, this Canucks team tonight was about as deserving as a skunk in a "Most Pleasant Smell Ever" contest. The only reason it was even close was because of Schneider standing on his head.

Get back to basics, start earning the $24 million spent on a "deep defense".

We really need to stop messing with chemistry. Put the speed line back, and Bieksa back with Hamhuis. It's common sense, don't screw with what works.

It should also be Garrison playing the right side with Edler, not the other way around.

My line-up for next game.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Kesler-Higgins
Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen
Volpatti-Lappiere-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Edler-Garrison
Ballard-Tanev

Luongo/Schnieder (Go with AV's coin toss)

Absolutely horrendous game. Canucks stole a point tonight on the back of Cory's amazing play.

Refs were hilariously laughable again, and I don't mean just against the Canucks, but just atrocious in general.

A series of terrible moves by MG has killed the greatness in this team. We're still good, but good teams don't win cups. Good teams lose in the 2nd round, good teams get 3rd in the conference, we aren't an elite team any more. We've lost too much ground.

Losing Ehrhoff, acquiring Booth who has underperformed, trading for Ballard AND signing Garrison (what's with this guy and Florida?), 9 million dollars of dead weight on D, trading Hodgson for a guy who might be good 6 years down the road instead of getting real help on the front end, relying on a undersized rookie to be the #3 C on the team, not making a big move to try and get a real #1 defenseman, trying to get size in the top 6 instead of the bottom 6 where none of the players can actually fight and they're pretty small (Raymond, Hansen, Schroeder, and Lapierre with 2 big guys that don't hit isn't a very scary bottom 6). Losing Raffi mixed with Many getting injured DESTROYED the bottom 6 and it hasn't been fixed, mean while Luongo not being traded is hurting the team because if he doesn't get traded this season that's another year to the sedins, less value for Luongo and a wasted season because with this team nothing is gonna happen.

Well, I hope we can pull off a miracle run, but it looks like our window has closed.

If Hansen gets a suspension for that I'm going to lose it on the league.

Shneider was awesome for us. He at least got us a point we didn't deserve.

I don't hate AV, but he and the rest of the coaching staff have to go. Other teams know how we operate, yet AV still won't change it up.

They took a Sedin and we took a Hossa, tit for tat..

Will Hossa's injury satisfy your moronic desire to see a Blackhawk hurt? Our would you like Toews to lose an eye as well?

Enough is enough people, it's NEVER a good thing to see a player laying on the ice like that, NEVER. The Canucks fans calling for blood (literally) need to grow up because your am embarrassment to your fine organization.

Just focus on two great teams playing a great game.

Giving Hansen a suspension or a fine would make the league look stupid. Clearly he was trying to grab the puck in the air and his elbow just happened to hit him. There was zero intent to injure and could very well be considered incidental contact; however, I do wish Hossa well considering his concussion history.

Despite the two goals Edler and Bieksa were brutal. They made a ton of horrible pinches. Hamhuis wasn't too good either, he tried to be too physical tonight and it showed as he was on the ice for at least 2 breakaways.

Garrison was actually decent, but it would be nice if he contributed offensively as well. Ballard and Tanev were solid as usual, and they showed it against tougher opponents (they were up against toews' line and Kane's line at points)

Our supposed d core needs to wake up.

Watch it be a team like Columbus or Edmonton that ends Chicago's streak.

I don't see why they make such a big deal out of it anyways. I'd rather have 16 wins in the playoffs then at the beginning of a season.

can someone post video of the hansen hit on hossa? was really hard to see on TV.

Canucks didnt deserve a point in this one, but that is why you have an allstar goalie he can steal games.

Got a point but they didn't deserve it. Terrible defense.. it could have easily been a blowout if not for Schneider.

Need to get better for sure.

schnieder is for real with lu would have been 7 to 1.. So to me unless defense game shapes up we wont be going past the wcf even if we are lucky to get there.

Been waiting for this game to see what we have.

oh yeah I'm sure you said Lu would get lit up by the hawks last time, we won in the shootout actually. get real Jag, I'm sure you don't know much hockey

Cory was outstanding for you guys, player of the game for sure. Hossa was stellar but without Cory's play this game this game isn't close.

Kesler played great besides the dive, he got robbed of an assist but they gave it to Henrik so it's all good.

All I can say to AV is

Reunite The Speed Line!!!!

forward momentum only applies to carrying the puck i believe

The puck must be kept in motion towards the opponent’s goal line and once it is shot, the play shall be considered complete. No goal can be scored on a rebound of any kind (an exception being the puck off the goal post or crossbar, then the goalkeeper and then directly into the goal), and any time the puck crosses the goal line or comes to a complete stop, the shot shall be considered complete

For the purposes of that wording that was a rebound (because the puck came back away from the goal-line) off one pad that was then put into Schneider's own net by his other pad. Should have been no goal, but do you really expect the idiots we had tonight out there to know the rules?

god.,..shut up. i personally favor cory over luongo last summer but both goalies have been playing solidly and neither of them deserves more dirt digging...i'd say in 90% of all our games this season, both goalies have been giving an A+ performance. we have way bigger problems outside the blue paint

no one is talking about how badly hamhuis got owned all night long dangled caught deep beat wide alot of players played bad but he was skating like he has the flu... tanev was our best D burrows and schnieds were awsome same with sedins if not for burrows 2 excellent screens those wouldve been 2 easy saves for emry . if it wasnt for schnieds it wouldve been another ... yes another 7-3 or 8-3 whopping at the hands of the hawks.

I can't believe Schneider faced 30 SCORING CHANCES, that's insane. That alone is surprising he kept us in it for as long as he did. The only play that impressed me was from Schneider, Tanev, and the Sedins. But mainly Schneider, if not for him, we'd be witnessing a severe blowout win..

I'm sure everyone has been saying this for awhile, as I have been since the 2011 season, but the coaching staff needs to LEAVE. AV, Bowness, Brown ALL OF THEM. This team has no fire under their arses without a coach that can lead the way. This team has been playing such lacklustre hockey for so long, the last time I saw a spirited game from everyone was in Boston last season. Our players are capable of so much more with a better coaching system.

I don't know why anyone would want to see a player (especially someone like Hossa) lying on the ice like that.

As much as I think there shouldn't be a suspension, it was scary seeing Hossa like that.

Schneider deserved and worked hard for that point today. He deserves at least that. Chicago was simply the better team.

I been thinking about the Canucks' play recently and I remember how they peaked in January last season, remember Boston game. By the time the playoffs came around they weren't playing their best.

Hopefully that's whats happening with Hawks right now and they are peaking. When playoffs roll around Canucks get hot and take another run at it.

Time to seriously start shopping Lou for a dynamic game breaker. Our boys looked a step behind all night. One of our highest paid players should not be on the bench. MG needs to utilize his cap space to make a difference on the ice.
